A sad state of affairs
Has anyone else come across this story from the BBC website?
BBC Sport - Accrington Stanley chairman Ilyas Khan defiant amid racist taunts Obviously the behaviours and attitudes are going to be condemned by the people on here, that's without question. However, what really surprises me is that there are still people like this out there. |
Re: A sad state of affairs

Re: A sad state of affairs
Disgusted like everyone else. Thought we were taking a turn for the better the other week when I saw an Asian family walking down to the match, decked out in Stanley colours, but there'll always be a minority of richard heads.

Re: A sad state of affairs
It's way out of order. One of our (Crawley's) darker skinned players received some racial abuse from a crowd member in a recent away game. It delayed the game for a few seconds but the gobby individual wasn't identified. I'm glad that it has vastly reduced over the years but we still have a long way to go.
The monkey noises and banana throwing have long gone but there is still an undercurrent at some games from a small minority. |
