Good news IMHO. Bavs has come on brilliantly this season and although he will always be prone to the odd clanger he is a decent back-up keeper who will be relatively cheap on the wage bill as as well as being an infectious character in the dressing room. :)

Still need a confirmed number one though.....Just sign King Kenny and the keeping situation is sorted :)

Worth a punt I would say....maybe a pay as you play contract with promise of a permanent contract for the following season if he plays enough games? :)

No problems from me as Alvin says he is an infectious character to have in the dressing room as well as I think particularly taking back over from Nicholls has seized his chance.

Not sure about Kenny coming back would rather see somebody proven over the last season or so at this level to mount any sort of serious challenge in league Two clean sheets are a must!

he has a coaching role thrown in with it as well so that keeps the wage bill down as well as having an experienced League 2 keeper onboard.

Pleased on two counts:

1. Rate him as a good and loyal servant of the club, and not a bad keeper;

2. Chance remains of Stevie Gerrard joining his mate as player coach on a free when he gets bored with the Premiership!!

Thing is much as i don't rate him, Most good coaches n Managers are players that never set the world alight, Most of the top uns fail miserably, so am optimistic.;)
