Dunno, but they won't find much if they really are only removing "20 millimetres" from the surface! Whatever they are doing, I hope they can solve the problem of the ridiculous sprinkler at the Clayton End, although it does give us plenty of amusement at half time when gallons of water have to be forked/brushed/blotted away.

Re: Pitch improvements

I agree that the pitch was much better this season. The year before it was awful! However, I simply cannot understand the need to water the pitch so heavily at half time! Surely if the pitch was watered about an hour before the start of the match, then it should maintain a good surface for the rest of the afternoon. Of course, I do appreciate the need to protect the players from injury by stopping the surface from hardening up, but I have thought that the particularly wet patch around the dodgy sprinkler could equally be the cause of a silly injury!! It has been quite entertaining watching Buzza and his lads brushing and forking the water away but to me it seemed like a waist of time and energy. Well, lets see if the new improvements work even better in order for our team to play our opponents off the park next season.

"The Crown Ground pitch continues to make good progress despite the recent wet weather!
Reseeding took place in late May and the work is starting to bear fruit."

What use is that? It's grass we need not fruit!
