current list of friendlies (to keep up)

21st July (sat) Blackburn (h)
24 July (tue) AFC Flyde (a)
29 July (sun) St Mirren (h)
31 July (tue) Warrington (a)
4 Aug (sat) Coventry (h)
8 Aug (wed) Manure LFA Final (n)
11 Aug (sat) Bolton (h)

can't be much more to add surely? I'd expect an odd one or two nothing games shovelled in on a wednesday or tuesday around an existing midweek game that will be fielded mainly by youth team players.

First time in living memory that the friendlies have been sorted this early!! :D

Wouldn,t bank on the 1st one the way things are going we won,t have a team.

Cracking pre-season. Lovely mix of glamour games to test ourselves and make a few quid....with a few traditional non-league p**s-ups thrown in for good measure. Roll on the first game :)

Why ? Players don't start back until the beginning of July, any signings before then are a bonus.

They will have more players than Stanley have had in 10 years. Best of all they still have a manager in place to sort it all out :D

Close to the action

A "proper ground" was offered as an alternative; but the "rules" do state final at Leyland. Suspect they didn't expect 2 big teams to contest the final:)

4000 at Old Trafford against Villa in the Reserve League play-off and 5000+ at the Etihad against Manchester City in the Manchester Senior Cup. They won both.

Occasionally, like the play-off final, but most of their games are at Altrincham and get crowds of around 500.

Alvin please no. I live in Wigan and I have the divels own job telling them they are not lancastrians but Mancs or Scousers (drives 'em nuts). Manchester is not nor hasn't been part of Lancashire since 1972. 2 Preston Guilds ago.

If you follow that logic then, since 1998, Blackpool and Blackburn are no longer part of Lancashire! Me, I'm with Alvin and sticking with the County Palatine, Barrow an' all: FORL:Lancashire County Palatine.

Looks like you won't be the only one Hassy

Blackburn Rovers in season ticket farce as fans are turned away (From Lancashire Telegraph)

There must be something that Stanley can do here to help boost our attendances whilst giving disenchanted Rovers fans a chance to watch regular footy?

If we want publicity, why not set a game up in the Falklands against Stanley Stanley?
