Glad I forgot this one. 6-0 just after half time with PC on to support the kids.

Seems our young keeper did ok, hope it don't damage his confidence.

Re: AFC Fylde........

A harsh lesson for the young lads, totally outplayed in every department.

AFC Fylde looked a decent side and having watched the Evo Stick League a few times last season they will have no problem winning the league, good luck to them.

Hopefully they get chance to turn it round at Padiham on Saturday.

Keeper wasnt at fault for any goals really cashy.

Both full backs had absolute nightmare's in the first 45.

Re: AFC Fylde........

I went as well smudge, and it was very poor and a reality check for lads wanting to make a pro career. Not one of the acci team would have got in fyldes team, which about sums it up.
I half expected it,as fylde beat a young Wigan team last week, but as you said, fullbacks playing wide and pushing on just exposed the cb's and centre mids never picked the runners.
It could and should have been 10+,
On a separate note, what did you think of there cf ,dean?,think he would do well at acci, another Paul mullin with pace.
Last moan,£8 to get in!,bit steep for a non league friendly game

Re: AFC Fylde........

I agree football 19.the centre forward was a good old fashioned forward and could do well for us. I wouldn't think we could afford him though.

Re: AFC Fylde........

Think he might have played for Clitheroe early in his career.

This is a bit of a worry with Stockdale, Hopper and Dixon all playing. What about Dawber? The reports suggest he had a very good game.

smudgie 25-07-2012 08:26

Re: AFC Fylde........

Was it James Dean playing up front for them??

Sure he has played for a few local non-league sides?

Dawber did ok Revived, made 3 good saves.

I thought Stockdale was a forward?? Played Center Back last night?? Hopper had a shocker, as they all did really. Only positive for me was the Left Back in the second half (blonde spikey hair) thought he did well........ thats about it !

Re: AFC Fylde........

It was James Dean, played for Halifax amongst others!! No18(LB 2nd half) was from youth team I was told. Dawber had a good game!!! :) Poor show from Stanley - apart from Cooky in the 2nd ;)

smudgie 25-07-2012 08:51

Re: AFC Fylde........

Cooky was knackered after 20 mins :D

Sprayed some great balls about mind !!

Re: AFC Fylde........

I liked it when we had throw ins and Cooky was organising the lads!!!! :) :)

Re: AFC Fylde........

As the half way point of the first half arrived, Dave Challinor's side pressed home their superiority with a fourth when despite the best efforts of Hatch Dean's shot fell to Michael Barnes who found the back of the net.
Mick is a top lad who was on the books at Man U for several years, he once had a trial with us under Coley and he is now a Tree Surgeon with Cornthwaite Tree Care an playing for Fylde Part time :-)

Re: AFC Fylde........

Lowely, was talking about Barnsey last night.
Dean played against him when he was at man utd,and i am sure he played and scored for there first team in the carling cup.
Its one of lifes great mysteries why hes still at fylde, can only presume hes got a decent buisness, and football is secondary to him.
Hes got pace to and can play left and right, still a quality player and a good football brain.
I am a bit worried me and smudgie are agreeing on most things at the moment as i too thought the left back(in the second half),did well,ie basic defending, and not thinking hes Ashley Cole !!.
To be fair, they had good shape and desire, and far too much experience for our lads

sherry 25-07-2012 11:12

Re: AFC Fylde........

Fylde was a well practiced team whereas Stanley was a bunch of lads thrown together for a purpose.

It was a pleasant evening spent in beautiful countryside. :)

Re: AFC Fylde........

Was surprised to see Lewis Hatch played, was he right back in the first half???

I know he has been recovering from blisters which is why he missed the Blackburn game.

Our first half Left Back looked about 15 :D

football19 25-07-2012 12:35

Re: AFC Fylde........

Think Lewis played all the game at right back, and is obviously comfortable on the ball, but has to work hard on his defending and positioning to start to progress to the next level.
Same with Bohan, hes one i have high hopes for,but has to learn quickly about positioning and switching off.
Must admit our left back in the first half was stitched up completely by his team mates,in terms of helping him.
I would have said he looked 13 not 15 !!!!

smudgie 25-07-2012 12:43

Re: AFC Fylde........

Was chatting to him on twitter, he was gutted.

First 90 minutes he has played for a LONG time though.

Told him to take his anger out on Padiham on Saturday, as no doubt most of them will be playing there.

sparkie 25-07-2012 12:54

Re: AFC Fylde........

Fyldes cf was indeed James Dean formerly of Halifax. He's only just joined fylde this preseason, and he lives in the hyndburn area I believe. However he has had some well documented problems with his knees over the past 3 or 4 seasons (tendonitis stuff I think) and as such he would be a bit of a gamble.
