Re: rochdale forum

We gave Coley a hell of a lot of rope at times and we forgave many of his shortcomings because he won lots of trophies for us, and because he stuck with us through all the bad times. He hasn't got that leeway anymore and has been unfortunate enough to go straight into a bad run. It really wouldn't surprise me if he was the next manager sacked in our league. Rochdale directors will remember all too well the consequences of sticking with a bad manager for too long.

Re: rochdale forum

Think my put bet on him next to be sacked in league two.

If Rochdale sack Coleman it will be the biggest mistake their board ever make.

The best manager never to manage in the top two divisions by a country mile.

Re: rochdale forum

I think most would be intrigued to see what he could do with a budget, and I bet he thought he was gonna get that at Rochdale. No doubt they've backed him slightly by signing Grant, but the fact that he's had to go back to all his old favourites also proves that he's having to work with a fairly meagre amount again.

A few snippets that made me chuckle

Quote:

Coleman worries me the pre season training was like something witnessed in 1980 not modern day professionalism.
Quote:

Worst set of players in the 18 years I've been watching. If something isn't done quickly we will be fighting relegation in this division.

Adebola is a lump who has the footballing brain of a cat.
Quote:

If you sign non-league players you end in the non-league.
Quote:

Didn't think it would be possible to assemble a squad worse than Eyres, but **** me an experienced manager has done so in record time.
Quote:

Adebola is too slow to catch a cold, Donnelly can't trap a bag of cement, Grant is a left footed, right sided forward if we believe today's line up.We can't get players into the box, don't shoot from outside the box, have probably the widest pitch in the division and don't have a winger in the club

re 18th: anywhere in the top 22 will do for me.

COLEMAN OUT

I'm just watching blind football, maybe the blindfolds are what we're missing.

putterill was the only threat and coleman took him off
Be all different next week though if they beat AFC Wimbledon

We might have the smallest gates but at least we have Supporters - 'dale seem to have more knockers than Downing St. Oh the fun you lucky local lads/lasses will have when they come to town !

wouldn't it be ironic if defeat by the mighty Accy Stanley was the final nail in the coffin ...

We need to refrain from any sort of schadenfreude when we remember what they did for us.

I'd take no pleasure from it Haggis, but a wry little smirk would probably curl up from the corners of my mouth.

J&J for me should have the freedom of the borough and can come for tea at mine if they like. Living legends. But getting the sack at Spotland? doesn't bear thinking about.
