Re: Im wondering..
regardless of what the other inmates of the Stanley asylum think, you're in good company Danny. IMHO we have a far bigger squad than we deserve to have.
On one hand we do seem to have a good influx of cash pre-season with all the new directors, but I worry that we might ejaculate it all on one seasons worth of success chasing. I have no worries about the regime and whether the money is going where it should (the right bank account) but the club is awash with more money than its had for years ... i hope the few tens of thousands aren't wasted |
Re: Im wondering..
If you feel there is a question you want raising at Boardroom level we do have our own fans Director now in Joe (Valarian) I am sure he will be happy to help if you want perhaps pm him through here or arrange to have a chat with him?
Also from the OSC perspective there are a few things going on behind the scenes that both Club and Supporters Club are working on together and from those dealings the contact between club and OSC is as good as it has been certainly in my time so from a personal point of view that bodes well not just for now but the future. There are usually Directors present at the OSC meetings as there are some of them that are members of the OSC the next meeting takes place on Monday October 8th if anybody wants to come along and raise anything please do or likewise if you want anything raising then please feel free to pm me and I will. A group of us had a chat with our Chairman Peter Marsden at my invitation in the Crown two weeks ago where Peter was happy to answer questions put to him with regards Stanley and also his view of where the Club and Board are looking to take the Club and again the Cooky philosophy on the field is being in my mind being carried on off the field. |

Just out of interest, what proportion of the clubs income as a percentage does the attendance represent?

Re: Im wondering..
Sorry no, need to do some digging and ask a few questions.
What I can confirm is every penny we spend is wisely spent and if indeed we can get something we need for nowt, that's the preferred option!! O and I mustn't forget the army of FANtastic volunteers that assist in so many ways:):) |
Re: Im wondering..
Is the revenue not broken down on the accounts or does it just show it as a lump sum ?
|
Re: Im wondering..
Again from memory after a long day; Revenue is quoted as a "lump sum" which includes absolutely everything from programme sales, gates, TV monies, donations, retail, beer sales, pie monies, etc, etc, etc.
What is more important to remember is how good we are at spending nowt AND being efficient!:) |

Re: Im wondering..
Two interesting examples of how clubs at our level survive with limited budgets. Admittedly Fleetwood have had massive investment (which I don't begrudge them at all), but it's still an example of how they are maximising their assets.

It's not easy, though, when you lose your league status and the significant funding that goes with it as Hereford are discovering: BBC Sport - Hereford United facing administration - David Keyte

Re: Im wondering..
Loving the supporters is the key element for small clubs.
We (or any other) can't afford to lose any percentage of a small gate but when you are looking to superced gate turnover with other revenue, such as advertising, you have to be providing an audience for that advertising. For far too long clubs have felt that they should only do something if it provides an immediate financial profit - there doesn't seem to be such thing as loss leaders or morale boosters anymore. |
