Re: Fylde match thread

Great away day and what a smashing friendly little club AFC Fylde is, potential banana skin game this for the red men but it turned out a bit of a walk in the park (giant box of man size scotties unopened in back of car) very trying conditions with the wind and rain blowing sideways across the park at the start of the second half. Bavs had very little to do all afternoon out field looked keen and defence looked better with Deano back in the squad. Stanley faithful were in full voice and a good afternoon was being had by all until (and he was one of ours ) marred it by kicking off with the stewards who happend to be Stanley stewards so it just took the edge off a little bit for me we don,t need idiots like that especially kicking off with there own. Anyways congrats to Will Hatfield grabbing all four Stanley goals.

Good game, good all round display, Fylde are a credit to their division they never stopped trying to play the ball. Was a pleasure to be yon, very friendly fans, only downside was few drunken knobheads, who should not be let out without their mummies.

Who fortunately know how to handle these prats, If those stewards had not been yon, the knobheads would probably now be waiting fer mummy to bail em out.

Was great going back to non-league for the day good cheap grub/beer and chewing the football fat with the opposition with a bit of banter thrown in, will be making a return trip when the Stanley are on their travels.

Well a really enjoyable day out. As others have said a potential banana skin avoided.

Will Hatfield will rightly take the plaudits, he really is made for that number 10 behind the striker position. I thought it was a professional job from the whole team. They looked set up well and seemed to know their roles.

Liddle again impressed me at Left Back with some tough tackling along with Molyneux pinging balls in from the wing.

As others have said a fantastic day tainted just a little by some drunken morons, what on earth was going on ??!!?

Bring on another trip up the M6 on Tuesday :)

Alas SC....having such atrocius luck where away-game Pies are concerned...it continued yesterday afternoon !...My HOT Meat and Potato, although of reasonable size andflavour was, unfortunately lukewarm and thus disappointing !!.... Perhaps Morecambe's will prove to be more palatable on Tuesday next !!.
BUT the game and the so professional way in which the Reds
approached it did warm me up no end !!... not quite a Rosy Glow...but enough to ward off the ravages of THAT wind blowing accross the Fylde Steppes.
My last word to Leam ...Well done ...well prepared...well executed....well finished....which must bode well for the future .

ps. Just noted the fine effort from the Youth team...send them a well done folks !!.

Agree with all that's been said. On the field, the whole team seemed settled and knew what was required of them. None of the Cook histrionics were needed. The Fylde fans were great - very welcoming. Such a pity that a few idiots (not to be confused with Stanley fans, of course) without a brain cell between them had to misbehave. In view of comments on such matters a few weeks ago, hopefully action will be taken.

PS - Sorry to hear about your pie, yonmon. Mine was hot, covered with gravy of a perfect consistency, accompanied by tasty mushy peas and chips that were cooked to perfection.

Aparently one of them has already been banned from Ewood.

Hopefully now we also ban him.

Well the 'morons' in question will certainly not be travelling with me/us again. Accys Finest. Put a downer on an awesome day.

The club are going to act apparently, whether they stick to their word is another question. Dont need people like that.

Great day out and fantastic result :)

As usual when we take a bigger than average away following a few who don't normally travel can't handle those beer. Just got to say well done to our own stewards who where planning on trying to drag him out from the middle of the crowd but took the advice that they would just antagonise things so will be having a chat with him the next home game

All,

Need to gather the facts from the sad incident yesterday.

We will listen to your views and act in the correct manner.

Overall a great day out with a superb result.

Backed by a FANtastic travelling support. Dread to think what the gate would have been if Fylde would have drawn a Southern team. Doubt the receipts would have covered the costs.

The home "day trippers" were leaving at half time!!

RR !!... Although I realize that this PS was probably added as a harmless jest, I find it of little consolation and have added it to other snippets of derision and advice received.
e.g. " You should not have gone straight to the Pie purveyor as soon as you got off the Bus !!...they (The Meat and Potato Pies that is, not the charming girls in the Kiosk !) would not have had chance to reach the desired temperature for consumption !"....or one wag even suggested that it could quite possibly have been some form of divine retribution for my straying from the straight and narrow during the past week !!.
Still RR...The fact that the Pie was not overpriced was of some consolation to me as I deposited the remnants in a bin by the Home Dugout !! , and I'm so awfully glad that you found such satisfaction from your snack !.
ps. Unlike one or two venerable users of our Forum, you were not there to witness my brush with 'The Chicken Balti' at the Kassam Stadium...( Just one more reason for hoping above hope that the Reds put one over on Oxford United in December !!)... so I shudder as I add an image of the offending offering....

What will tomorrow evening at Morecambe bring ??.
