Fleetwood recall Rob Atkinson
Fleetwood Town have recalled centre-back Rob Atkinson from his loan spell at Lancashire neighbours Accrington. The 25 year old joined Stanley in September and made 13 appearances for the club, the last of which came in the 2-1 loss against Rotherham on Tuesday Atkinson was part of the Fleetwood team that won promotion to the Football League for the first time last season. But he will be unable to face Aldershot in the FA Cup on Saturday, having played for Stanley in the first round. B***er! |
Re: Rob Atkinson
Might as well have let us play him on Saturday if he's cup-tied for them......

Re: Rob Atkinson
Always thought he was a good solid player, will be a miss in my opinion.

Re: Rob Atkinson
Agree with that Val,he's a good player, but I don't think we could afford him if he became available,so it was always going to be short term.Need Toto now to raise his game and fill that void

Re: Rob Atkinson
Will be a big loss.
Toto & Murph in??? Would like to see Eckersley given a chance mind. |
Re: Rob Atkinson
:( Will be a big loss to stanley IMHO :( good look Rob and thankyou:)

Re: Rob Atkinson
He will be missed (thought he'd just had his loan spell extended to January?) but it's now up to Toto and Murphy to step up to the mark. They are both well capable of doing the job for Stanley as a CB pairing.

Re: Rob Atkinson
From the BBC - today
Accrington Stanley may look to sign Fleetwood defender Rob Atkinson on a permanent basis in January. "We'll monitor the situation and see what comes of it," Stanley boss Leam Richardson told BBC Radio Lancashire. "He settled in really well and I think he's enjoyed it. If the same circumstances become evident again, I think he would like to return." Atkinson initially joined Accrington on loan in October and played 13 games for the League Two club. Richardson continued: "Rob's done smashing, we thank him and we wish him well. We hope he has an impact on Fleetwood's season. We have got players in our squad who can step in quite comfortably and do a job, so we're quite positive." He is unable to play for Fleetwood against Aldershot in the FA Cup on Saturday, as he featured in Accrington's first-round victory at non-league AFC Fylde. :D:D:D:D:D:D |

Re: Rob Atkinson
Linfield Murphy Winnard Liddle ...I dont think you can play Toto and Murphy both at CB, Winnard will be good at CB with one of the two for abit of experience!
