Stuart Howson gone
Stuart Howson is no longer a Stanley player, which for me is bad news as I liked the guy as a player. I thought he was good enough to make it in our 'squad' at least. But probably he wants more first team football.
Nothing left for me to say but to wishing Stuart all the best in the future. |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Where is that from Smiffy????
I too thought he was good enough (but what do I know). |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
For what its worth, I also thought he was more than good enough for our team!:(

Re: Stuart Howson gone
A class player I thought...... shocker!
See what happens on Saturday though & for rest of season b4 we judge. |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
who say`s he has gone.
nothing official is there.if it`s true, i am sorry but coley should have stuck to teaching. he is one of the few who have played in the league and his experience would have been a benefit to the team. did nothing wrong when i have seen him play. bet he wishes he had been born in kirby.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Seems a shame that we've lost the only experienced left-back we have at the club, especially as he was still young and looked a decent player. Having said that, perhaps JC has another player in the pipeline? We'll just have to wait and see, but I really hope he has someone lined up.
BTW Confused, perhaps you should learn to spell KirKby before making such silly accusations? |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Bad news if it's true, but surely we're not going to regress to all this stupidity about "Coley only picks scousers" are we? The man deserves better than that.

Re: Stuart Howson gone
So come on Smiffy, where did you get this piece of info??? Nothing on the official site yet and nothing in ta' Telegraph. Very sad day if it is true
|
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Very reliable source, also his profile has been deleted from the 'player profiles' on the website.
Don't know the details but know for sure Howson is definately not a Stanley player anymore. |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
That does not say a lot Smiffy
|
Re: Stuart Howson gone
It's a shame if this is true, as the only other left back we have is Chris Butler who although he is starting to fit into the team nicely & has played well the last couple of games, is not yet fit enough to play a full 90 minutes, but let's wait for an official announcement & explanation before we judge.

Re: Stuart Howson gone
Stuart Howsons Profile has now been put back.
The website was wrongly informed by the club that Howson had left. The mistake is the clubs and not the website and not smiffy16 as both relayed what the club had given out. These things happen:) |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Good news :):):)......;););)...
Cheers Kipax :) |

Re: Stuart Howson gone
Howson is definitely going. It just looks like the website and Smiffy16 were told before the player.I have been told Droylsden wanted to keep him and Howson wanted to go.Apparently he is not happy about being left out of the team after playing in 6 games where we were unbeaten. Then nothing.
Looks like he has been missed to me as the results have been poor since then. PS Sorry Tin Monkey for spelling Kirkby wrong but I tried to spell it as a Scouser would.!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Whalley Red, don't quite understand your post as K3mpy has not posted anything in this particualr forum!!! Confused, how come people close to the club say Howson's not gone yet you insist he is going! Lets wait for the official announcement eh! And lets hope he does stay and play for his place, coz it looks like hacker's the next to go out on loan. (L.E.T. I think the quote was from by J.C.)

Re: Stuart Howson gone
Howson is a class act, also Butler is a fine prospect. Said to my mate on Saturday "Butler's playing well, probably get dropped then". Am I just an old cynic?
There only one of our full backs not up to Conference standard but since I seem to be in a minority of one I daren't mention his name. |

Is that the full back who never seems to be where he is supposed to be, is a bit slow in tackling, doesn't mark anyone at set pieces and whose distribution leaves a lot to be desired ? I wonder who you mean. |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
That's the one!

Re: Stuart Howson gone
Outback Ozzy, there were a few posts deleted by Zombie after K3MPY's childish nonsense. It would have made more sense if Zombie had deleted mine as well as I was answering one of K3MPİ's points.

Re: Stuart Howson gone
Now that Howson is officially a Droylsden player, can anyone see any sense in this?
I wonder if Coley has someone else lined up? |
Re: Stuart Howson gone
Now we do not have a left back at all. Howson has gone, Hollis has gone, Bimson not offered terms, Butler on trial. I do not understand what we are doing. I suppose we could always play players out of position, Cav at left back, Rocky at right back, etc. Coley said that he was looking for a left back and now gives one away. There must be some reason for it. I wonder what it is.

Re: Stuart Howson gone
he never really stood out, but the only problem is any player who can play on the right wing or at left back or in the net with anything about him will stand out in our squad because we are lacking quality in certain positions, and have nobody who can specialise in them, and getting players who can is easier said than done
|
Re: Stuart Howson gone
He certainly stood out to me as having a touch of class.Perhaps he didn`t get much back-up from Brannan at times.Let`s not forget Stuart Howson was signed as a centre back. The reason he ended up playing left back was because that was where the problem area was in the team.To allow him to go without giving him longer to settle into the team is stupid. He did nothing wrong in the games he played in.He was probably the only one in the team who could hit a diagonal ball 50 yards and find his man with his passes.Like many others I feel Coleman still does not know his best 11 and to let Stuart go proves it even more.Look at Jody Bannim,he has scored 10 goals from 8 starts at Droylsden and we struggle to score at the moment.Coleman never even gave him a start.
On a final note I would just like to say good luck for the future Stuart and maybe we will see you again here soon (because we are going nowhere). |

Re: Stuart Howson gone
I agree about Jody Banim. I thought he was overweight personally, and that wont have helped him playing in the conference. Like Smiffy says it is a different league he is playing in now and logically it must be easier for him.
The Droylsden messageboards a few days ago were really praising Howson on his performances, but he is gone and we must look forward. Its like Tin Monkey said, maybe Mr Coleman has someone else in mind? |
