First time I have started one of these and will content myself with this link to the Dale forum which has paranoia running through it!

That's very kind of you!
I'm just hoping:-
a) I can shake off this nasty cold in time and
b) The coach will be actually running!

Surely the best result for Stanley in that game (i.e Wimbledon v Plymouth ) is a draw:confused:

Or are you a closet Womble ???:eek::rolleyes:

team tonight from fishy is Stanley: Rachubka, Hunt, Winnard, Hughes, Liddle, Boco, Murphy, Joyce, Wilson, Beattie, Gray

Subs: Hatfield, Miller, Carver, Dawber, Molyneux, Aldred, Linganzi

Just had a look at the sky sports chip from Saturday. Not at all concerned about tonight, it's very much a battling Stanley like we have witnessed season after season. It should be a good game and I get to stay home for all of it, not just the first half. :)

Great result and a clean sheet.

Torquay lost again, so a win on Saturday would really bring other teams into the relegation battle.

In theory, everyone from Morecambe down (46 points) can still be involved.

I'll say it was joyous. as others have said, even stevens in the first 75 mins, then Lee M comes up with 2 crackers in 3 minutes and almost had a 3rd, but for the post, but for once, one of the team was following up, take a bow Rommy Boco. Great support from Accy, would like to know the numbers. Roll on Saturday and another potential 3 points against Torquay. Kep the belief and keep Lee M in the team and Monsieur Linganzi. Only had a cameo role tonight but what a talent he has including tackling. On the Dale site they said they were expecting a bruising encounter, well they were the ones doing the bruising.

Re: Rochdale away thread

Just in from the game,so here goes-----get in you beauty !!!To be fair both teams look nervous and no one was prepared to take a risk.
Don't know when Hughes was injured, but he seemed reluctant to push up and this caused murph and joyce all kinds of problems, with rochdale passing and moving in the open areas, they were at times all at sea.
Far play to Leam who saw this and Boco was pulled in to help.
This then let there fullbacks push on and this caused a few headaches, but the our fullbacks were wired in.
Hughes going off actually helped us as our starting position was higher up the pitch, and Aldred was excellent, tough, uncompromising, with a bit of class as well, him and dean marshalled the lads in front of them,to create a solid base.
The game turned on Leams substitutions, bringing on moly,he blocked off the left channel, the new lad went in centre mid, which gave us presence and Rommy went up top and his pace caused them real problems.
You will never see two better strikes for the goals,I said from day one, moly had the best left foot I had seen in a young player, and now he has delivered.
I hope the ones who didn't go get to see them, absolute quality.
To sum up,poor game upto Leams subs, but its three points and is our luck changing!!!

Re: Rochdale away thread

BBCSPORT breif match report... Lee Molyneux scored two stunning goals as Accrington defeated Rochdale to move out of the League Two relegation zone.
Dale had the better of the first half with both Ritchie Jones and Jason Kennedy glancing headers wide and Terry Gornell flashed just wide of the post.
Molyneux, on as a second-half substitute, scored his first from long range, smashing into the top corner.
The former Everton trainee drilled in a 25-yard free-kick before midfielder Rommy Boco stroked home a third.
Keith Hill's side looked much more likely to open the scoring and dominated possession, while Stanley managed only one effort on target in the first period.
But the introduction of full-back Molyneux on 60 minutes changed the game as his two long-distance strikes handed Accrington their first win in eight attempts and lifted Stanley out of the bottom two. :):):) Well done Stanley more of the same on saturday please:)

I think maybe those on 46 will probably get another 4 or 5 points to be safe. You got to think Rochdale on their current form must be looking over their shoulders

Greeny 27-02-2013 11:43

Re: Rochdale away thread

Went to Rochdale and was wishing I hadn't bothered . By half time I would have settled for a draw . Rochdale kept possession , we looked as though we were frightened of them .Rochdale seemed sure to score.
In the second half we came out all guns blazing , but didn't last long. Leam then went to plan B , he brought on two subs , Bingo , game on !! Rochdale must have wondered what had hit them , Molyneux found that net and the Stanley fans went electric, a free kick followed , again Molyneux with his left foot , curled that ball round the wall , what a beauty , Rochdale fans now start to leave the stadium , but we were now on a high and Boco made it 3 - 0 , FT and all three point came home to Stanley. My suggestion for future games, Leam start with plan B , it worked.

football19 27-02-2013 13:11

Re: Rochdale away thread

To be fair Greeny they started the game with four specialist centre midfielders and we sort of got over run with there movement and inter-changing,although they never really got the wrong side of our defence.
Our changes were brought on when they introduced two wingers and we changed our shape to suit(full marks to Leam).
Bet they wished they never opened the game up !!,as it had 0-0 written all over it.
Shows what character the team has, when we lose possibly our form player early doors and still dug in for a result.

Re: Rochdale away thread

Not getting to excited about this result as its just one we need of plenty! 3 points against Torquay and il have a little more hope about the club. Still dont agree with managerial position at all but we need these 3 points so i dont really care who they come from!

I wouldnt start molly next game, bring him on around 60 minutes to start tearing into torquay! Nice to hear Beattie is finally realising he needs to get stuck into league 2! How was he whoever went? Fitness? etc.

Couldnt make the game as currently in Northern Ireland, but me and one of the seed twins did have a little bit of a dance in the bar !

Keep it up reds!!

In honour of the performance which hopefully kick starts the fight back.

Sung to the tune of "Only You" by Alison Moyet (or was it Yazoo):

"All I needed was to watch you play
All I needed every Saturday
Your left foot sweet and true
Molyneux"

Re: Rochdale away thread

FABULOUS RESULT!!! :wave8:
Like waiting ages for a bus and then two arrive together. Fairly dull match up to the substitutions with both sides cancelling each other out. Enter Lee Molineux and WHAM !!! :flamethroGOAL OF THE SEASON ...including the Premier League!!! and then DOUBLE WHAM BANG !!!! another Goal of the season!!!! :uzi:Two absolute pearlers from that superb left foot. We have seen it before, Lee really strikes through the ball...no spin or slice... the ball just goes like a MISSILE. If a Premier League player had scored two goals like that it would be said that each goal would add a Million Pounds on his value!! We need to keep this lad and not let him go elsewhere. Sign him up now on a three year contract. He is the most exciting prospect I have seen at Stanley since Brett Ormerod.
When Hughes, who has been playing very solidly, had to go off I feared the worst but Tom Aldred proved to be just as good as Hughes has been recently. Tom had a really good match and Leam must be reassured by the solidity that both of these lads can now provide at the back. Still felt that our midfield allowed their players to come too far into our territory before attempting to tackle them. That was until Lee and Marmine came on. Both of them pressed their midfield much higher up the pitch and Marmine in particular looks like adding the combative steel, and a degree of footballing skill, that I think we have missed since Procky left us.
The momentum is with us now after two sterling performances and Leam and the boys must be looking forward to our next match against Torquay on Saturday. They are only one point above us and we can leapfrog them and start to move up the table!
Well done Leam, Lee and the team. More of the same please.
KEEP THE FAITH......COME ON YOU REDS!!!
