Jack Barrett

Don't know how to start a poll, so, hopefully someone can do it on my behalf.

Should the main stand be re-named the

'Jack Barrett stand' ??

Hi,i only found out about the passing of my uncle Jack about an hour ago, from my cousin Ray Moss.My father was his brother Francis(Frank) Barrett who died many years ago.I did not have a lot of contact with Jack over the years.I am very proud of his devotion to Accrington Stanley, and think that the naming of a stand would be a fantastic gesture towards his memory.JACK BARRETT R.I.P.

Re: Jack Barrett

No need to start a poll Kitchener I think 100% of the fans would be in favour, it is the very least we can do for Jack after all he has done for this Club, it is a mater for the Club and Jack's Family to discuss and take it from there.

If it is a matter of funding I am pretty sure we can come up with something should the need arise.

I think it would be a very fitting gesture by the club.

Jack was a roofer. See Bob's post in the "In Hope" thread.

Dunno, Kitch, I didn't even know he was a roofer until Bob said.

The stand should have been re-named after him while he was still alive so that he could have appreciated it.;)

At last, Stanley have listened and yesterday his son opened the Jack Barrett Memorial Stand in his honour. They took there time, but it was well worth the wait and an honour for Mr Accrington Stanley - well done the club and the board of directors.

The Official Supporters' Club led this providing both the
sign and plaque in memory of Jack. It liaised with Jack's family taking their
wishes into account and arranged the visit for the ceremony with the full
support of the board. :)

Yes you did. Jack worked at Accrington Post Office for many years. It was a pleasure to have known him.
