Re: The League Two relegation battle

"It is a telling stat that out of the 14 clubs relegated from the Football League between the 2003-04 and 2010-11 seasons, only two – Oxford United and Torquay United – have returned to the fourth division of English football. While relegation from any league is bad; it is a disaster in League Two, with dropping into non-league affecting the club on and off the pitch.

A loss of money is imperative, with this being something that has plagued many former Football League clubs. Four teams – Rushden and Diamonds, Boston United, Chester City and Darlington – had to reform shortly after falling into non-league, with this compounding their existing money problems. This is just one of many issues that plague clubs that drop out of the Football League, which makes it imperative for them to survive."

Very interesting, and also very worrying from our point of view!
