AccyWeb Player of The Season
Hi folks, that time of year again - I know we're still biting our nails till we're safe but i'm taking a leap of faith and launching the poll for Stanley's player of the season to be voted for by AccyWeb members.
The supporters club are going to be implementing their voting procedure for their award at Friday night's game Morecambe. Although unfortunately there is not going to be the traditional end of season 'do' this year, these awards will be presented to the winners in the clubhouse after the Oxford game on the 27th. Just one award to be voted for in this poll - your overall player of the season, one vote per person please & voting will cease at midnight on Monday, 22nd April. |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Heads-up particularly to Lee Molyneux who has been a different class when he gets into a game, Ian Dunbavin who was brilliant when fit, as well as Armine Linganzi and Tom Aldred who have been revelations since they arrived. But for effort and ability over the whole season ...
Rommy Boco |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Can't dispute whalley reds views, but i would say Boco without doubt, Have to say though if Dunbavin had not been injured n continued his form this season it would have been a very tough call.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Moly has had a great second half to season,Boco had a great first half, but for consistency and most improved,in numerous positions i would opt for Murphy, who sums up what an Acci is all about, not the best player, but great team man.

no? ah well, unofficial one then!! |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Ian Dunbavin - without the points he stole for us against the run of play in the first few weeks, I reckon the position now would be hopeless.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
share it ian dunbavin/peter murphy

Lee Molyneux. A class apart!
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
I just don't know. Cases can be made for Armine Linganzi, playing when he knew his brother had died, Lee Molyneux for his goals towards the end of this season, Ian Dunbavin for his saves prior to getting injured, but for me (and I do hope the snake does not come a calling for him) Romauld Boco - he deserves all the plaudits for busting a gut for Stanley on a number of occasions. Just seems that whoever gets player of the year leaves the following season.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Lee molyneux for me
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
For me for the number of games played, the differing positions played and never giving up the fight it has to be Peter Murphy.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
For the effort every game Rommy Boco for me
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Boco shades it for me, only slightly in front of Moly & Bavs.
Hang on, I'm only supposed to have one vote! Can we split mine three ways? |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
I'd go for Moly, I appreciate what Murph has done for the club, but Moly's goals and assists have given us the impetus to spur on, in the run-in.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Aldred is my choice
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Just seems that whoever gets player of the year leaves the following season.[/QUOTE] Sean McConville for me then oh hang on:)
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Molynuex for me too.
Without him we would be down simple. Any news on the end of season do?? |

Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Bavs all the way for me
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Rommy Boco for my choice.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
For me the player of the season has to have played nearly all the games in that season, that gives a short list of
Murphy, Winnard, Molyneux, Joyce, Boco, To me Molyneux stands out and gets my vote |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Thats my logic as well accybeme.;)
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
:) Lee Molyneux fer me liked the look of him soon as i saw him playing in pre-season friendly's.. just hope we can keep him :)
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Moly for me
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
I'll go for Lee Molyneux as well

Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
For the priceless combination of work rate, quality and character - Lee Molyneux.
I've no doubt that he'll have played his last game in a Stanley shirt come the end of the season but it's one of those cases where you hope he gets as far as he can in the game. So many talented players drift out of football after not getting their break when expected but to come back and start again is the mark of a class player. Well done Lee, fit in another hat-trick if you don't mind. |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
My vote goes to Rommy Boco for his 110% commitment every game
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Boco has been consistent all season but without ever really putting in match winning performances.
For that reason it can only be Lee Molyneux, if we do stay up it will be largely thanks to his goals in recent weeks. Special credit as well to Bavs. To even be in with a shout having missed more than half a season is testament to the performances he put in early doors. Almost 25% clean sheets is crazy for this club and our long serving goalkeeper. |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Rommy Boco, for me as well ...
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
I can see the reasoning behind Bavs, Rommy and the other nominees .....
For me, though, it's the person who MUST have inspired his team-mates, especially when the chips were down and the fat was in the fire ...........:o (which it will be, I suppose, if the chips are down ..........:p) No disrespect to some good candidates, but my vote goes to Lee Molyneux :D |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Close one this for me, without injury it would have been Bavs all the way. However I think im going to go with Moly as well, valuable goals, top work rate and a bit of added quality when weve needed it. Rommy was also in with a shout.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
These multiple choice questions are tricky. It'd be easier if it was team of the season.
Think Wilson adds something to the team, especially when taking corners. Aldred does his job well and Murphy is a rock (and not only by deflecting balls into the net). Boco has made a lot of chances for others and made an astounding start back at Cheltenham (oh, heady days). Linganzi is a revelation (and we must offer him a deal) and would have got my vote if he'd played a few more games. But, in terms of impact, my choice is Lee Molyneux, [if nothing else for his goal at Wycombe]. |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Lee Molyneux is my vote.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Whoever wins this, I think given the position we are in. Its a credit to the lads there is a varied choice. So well done.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
I agree that there a few good candidates but it will be Lee Moly for me too. For those spectacular goals in recent matches which turned our season round.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Can only be one person lee moly for me also
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Molyneaux for me just for the simple reason that his left boot alone has given us numerous points. Without his ball striking ability who know's where we'd be. Heading for the conference maybe.
The man who saved the club from potential non-league obscurity, Moly!!! |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
There will always be headline makers and those who go under the radar in games but the most pleasing aspect of certainly the last few months is it been very much a team effort with everyone digging deep with some great performances with points picked up whilst some points have been ground out.
Everybody who has played and come off the Subs bench and even those that have not played have still played their part in transforming this team around, just a pity it was not early September who knows where we would have ended up? |
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Moly for me :)
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Just bumping this thread back up - voting closes at midnight on Monday if anyone hasn't had their say yet. Thanks to all who have voted so far :)
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Rommy Boco for me , gives 100% every game . Shame Ilyas Khan isn't part of the team as he has made his mark yet again this season.
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
Not necessarily the player of the season, but definitely the player who has defined our season. Moly for me
|
Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
A difficult decision between two players who've been key to our survival. Boco & Moly.
However, I'll go for Molyneux, for the simple fact his goals towards the end of the season have won so many priceless points.:D |

Re: AccyWeb Player of The Season
To be fair, moly didn't break any pots at left back,it was when he was moved into midfield he caught fire - Bocco was consistent all season, but still goin for murph, played all games in various rolls, and was pretty consistent, unsung hero IMHO
|
