Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Bury FC Statement
Sad and all too familiar news :( I remember their fund-raising game in 2001 and how they rallied to our cause a few years ago. |
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Terrible news hope they get the backers they need.

Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Just makes you wonder why all those silly FC United fans who go to Gigg Lane for their home games didn't adopt the Shakers instead. Happen they don't win enough to satisfy their thirst for glory.
Best of luck to our friends down the road. |
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
I was sad when I saw that on Sky earlier, I can remember making a small donation when they were in a bad way before, think it was something to do with putting your name on a seat or somat

Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Problem is too much t.v money washing around in the premier league, and not enough floating down to where the next young players are being brought on.

I hope they find them.... How many Ilyas' can they find? Thank God our Ilyas did not have to find £1 million! Although he may have found a way, due to his absolute love of the club! |
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Good Luck to the Shakers especially their fans they were at our side in hour of need and there are some Shakers fans coming over to stand alongside us in the Clayton End on Friday Night against Morecambe.
Very Best of Luck to Bury FC and their fight for survival. |
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
phil and gary neville use to visit Gigg Lane as children, they should ask them to help out.

Could be good timing for Phil. Buy the club, install yourself as manager :)

Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
One of my fav. away games, watching Stanley at Bury in the 50s. The player I used to love to hate was their half back Gordon Atherton, always tough and dangerous. Best wishes Bury, hope things work out.

Would hope we as supporters and Stanley as a club can do something to help, whatever that might be.

No matter your political affinity, this has no place on here! Presumably the mods can ban this cretin, but could they also order a public flogging on Broadway? |

Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
how much money do they lose out on from relegation? (the difference between league 1 and 2?)
|
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
about £600k I think Davo, before you take into account smaller crowds, matchday revenue, loss of sponsorships etc
|
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
i thought the crowds went smaller when they went up to league 1?
Is it a psychological thing? Fans prefer to watch a team challenge in a lower division than struggle in a high division? We have suffered the same when you compare the attendances in the past few years with the conference winning season |

Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
Injuries on the pitch has hammered us and nothing seems to have gone our way. So many games we should have won and can not put the ball in the net. I like a few others have said that if BFC go to pot, then we will be adopting Accy as they are our 2nd club anyway.
By all accounts it is looking promising (as of today) we will have a club but we will need to bring in about 15 - 20 players which is a huge gamble because we have already started the clear out. Personally I cannot wait to have a pint in the crown and resume proper footie. Whether we have a competitive budget and whether Blackwell and/or the board stays in place remains to be seen so we cannot plan ahead. |
Re: Bury FC statement re: financial difficulty
