League 1 relegated teams

Portsmouth
Bury
Hartlepool

Scunthorpe or Colchester

Portsmouth away should be good.

Definitely no question to me. better away following also i reckon. Watched a 12.000 gate against Stanley late 50s n we were only getting 3-4 thousand .

Have to say they were in the 50s, but Stanley didn't have the Ultras back then.:);)

18500 for last home game of this season last Saturday. A bit special 'cos they were celebrating the Supporters' Trust taking control and getting out of administration (and relegation :D) but, given a winning season, I'm guessing they won't be far short of that regularly next term. I'm looking forward to walking to Fratton to support Stanley.

Unless we go up with them, of course .........:p

Portsmouth away ? - - - hmmm. Did that in 1959 for the replay of the 3rd round game that Cashy attended at Peel Park. Was exiled down south by then and bunked off school to catch a train to see my beloved Stanley for the first time since leaving Accy Dec 1951. Signalling probs delayed the train and arrived with 20 minutes gone. Keeper Mcinnes was hobbling badly on the wing and whoever was the first to takeover his jersey had been carried off. No subs in those days and we were 3 down when I got there. They were top division in those days so we did well to only end up 4 - 1. It will be good to travel a couple of dozen miles along the coast to Chimer territory hoping for a bit of payback for '59 ! Compensates somewhat for probably losing 2 local fixtures next year from the relegationites.

It'd be nice to play Portsmouth on the opening day of the season at home.:) I hope it's not on a wet Tuesday night in January.
I'd also prefer Scunthorpe to Colchester to drop down. The more northern the better for us.

Agreed winstan.

The fixtures where dreadful this season in terms of dates/ location.

The ONLY two I looked forward too pre-season where York and Bristol away the last few weeks.

Morecambe away Boxing Day please !

Looks like we will be welcoming Jimmy Ryan back with Scunthorpe, I feel sure he will get a warm and welcoming return from the Reds fans
