I would think the pompey fans will be miffed at bringing the kick off to 1215. It means they will have to set out very early in the morning or come the night before just to get here!!
Nice of Sky to consider showing one of our games and the revenue will be nice to the club, however, I think this will put one or two pompey fans off travelling because they can watch the match on the big screen.

I don't think it's an unalloyed good thing, especially if you're a real Pompey fan who actually wants to be at the match rather one who's happy to sit on the sofa eating pizza. It'll make going to Stanley all the more diffiocult but then what do the TV barons care about fans? Next thing they'll be having canned cheering when the ads are rolled out.
If such b*****ing around with the times of matches is the price of having a 'big' club in League 2, then Pompey fans better get used to some early starts or expensive overnight stays if they actually do want to get to some other grounds.

with the amount of travelling fans Pompey have, a new ground, live on sky and a chance to show the country how great they are, the new feel good factor around the club since the takeover, AND a reason to visit sunny Accrington, if a Portsmouth fan didn't want to come for this game then they don't deserve to call themselves a fan.

A mid-day kick off won't bother us as we will be up on Friday and staying for 10 days.

It won't bother the rest either . . games against Blackburn Rov were always being altered.

Doh! I thought there was going to be a Sky exclusive documentary, about an eruption!

Should have checked which section it's in.

I don't have sky but a trip to the pub will be a possibility followed by an all day session as it's my 50th. I would rather have been there but public transport in Dumfries and Galloway is poor to say the least and I'm 18 miles from the train station.

I haven't given up on it yet though.

A good plan but, unfortunately her daughter is due to have a baby the same day so the lure of another grandchild beats a weekend in accy as far as she's concerned. I might be able to wangle a lift for the earlier train with a bit of luck.

It's dodgy taking her to the game any way. I took her to the game at morecambe on boxing day 2011, I needed a driver :D, drank rather a lot and decided we would get married in june 2012!!

To be honest, If your Grandchild is due to be born and and you're considering a football match to be more important. I'd say you've got your priorities wrong.

Each to their own though.

First of all it is my wifes grand child as it is her daughter not mine although I will qualify that as I have always treated her as my own. I would also say that I have a very good relationship with her natural father and his wife who would expect to be there at the time of the birth if possible. Further more the post by macca was about a weekend away for her mother where as I would be down for the day and the maternity hospital is on the way home so would not present a problem to visit on the day of the birth were it the match day.

Given you didn't know the circumstances I will excuse you rather than give my real opinion which may get me banned since you knew nothing about the circumstances. A common problem with people on message boards who don't know the full facts.

It is a well quoted saying that it is better to let people think you are stupid than open your mouth and confirm that you are!!
