July 1St Tomorrow.

In view of first friendly next sat, I am expecting movement on transfer front this week, Wi Beats contacts in the game, its worth noting "Rooney" is still unsettled.:D

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Rooney may be unsettled but I don't think he'd be happy to come here to just be on the bench

Beattie will have the team ready, no need to be concerned.
Traditionally the football world gets busy by the end of next week when players return to find out they are not in the managers plans to other players realising they dont have a right to a wage and will now need to choose a club or risk missing out.

cashman 30-06-2013 12:58

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Oh i aint concerned in the slightest, just interested as to what additions we will make.;):)

There are meant to be some trialists being looked at this week, so I would expect some of them to potentially be playing on Saturday.

Not sure about that one. He tweeted at the weekend about English future being in doubt, then this morning,
1st of July down to the job centre

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

looks like BT probably gave them a deadline to sign or the contract is revoked.

Not bothered and won't be a huge loss.

cashman 01-07-2013 09:42

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Well if going down jobcentre can only mean 1 of 2 things, (1) refused contract offer, or (2) aint been offered one. either way then i aint that upset.

maccawozzagod 01-07-2013 11:14

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

the club had said that all the remaining players HAD been offered a contract - in which case there's no point in him going to the jobcentre as he walked out on a job :)

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

His tweet about the labour exchange may have been an unadvised joke because he did tweet later on that he'd had a hard session today and would be able to catch Mo Farah eventually. If he's shown reluctance to sign a contract because he thinks he'll get better elsewhere then I think we should tell him not to come back but few of us know what goes on behind the scenes so let's just see how it pans out. We'll have a squad of players that JB wants by the time the season starts. If that includes Podge then great; if it doesn't then so be it.

Wouldn't need to claim dole anyway, having played for Stanley he'll be loaded :D:D:D:D:D

Amond no great loss did,nt score enough for a striker but it looks like no Jeffers either he,s a differant story will be hard to replace.

Agree somewhat, although Podge did do a lot of running; maybe he is after Mo Farrer's contracts.
But what with Podge's lack of goals and Frannie 'Mickey Mouse' Jeffers' injuries, let's hope there's someone else out there who can add to Stanley's goal threat.

Think young Carver will hopefully come through next season? This is his big chance i reckon.

7 in the first 14 games of the season that got you off to a flyer sounds a very decent return to me.

He looked ok when he smashed that one into our net in April :eek:

At least he hasn't gone to play for the Snake. Is Boco joining up with him ?

Let's hope he smashes another one into your net in October ;)

To be fair, he does look ok, always gives 100% certainly can't knock him fer that, I always gave 100% meself when i was young, never made me a great footballer though.;)

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

I don't think our system ever suited Podge to be fair. Big un and a little un system required for the diminuitive Irishman I reckon, he'd have filled his boots alongside Mullers.

cashman 02-07-2013 15:40

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

To be fair hes never really filled his boots anywhere in his career, never been prolific league wise.

cos he never played with Mullin

Morecambe_Red 02-07-2013 16:31

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Well I don't think we will be pairing him with Jack Redshaw !!

We signed Jack Sampson who is 6ft 2 and was on loan at Accy. He may be the one to play with Padraig.

AccyMad 02-07-2013 16:40

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

He may be different for you but while we had Sampson he was pants, never looked remotely interested imho.
Podge on the other hand, ok he didn't have a brilliant season last term (then again he did suffer a lot of time out injured) but as others have said he always gives 110% & I for one hoped he would sign up with Stanley again, unfortunately doesn't look like that's the case but wish him luck wherever he ends up

maccawozzagod 02-07-2013 17:54

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Sampsons got good pedigree but wasn't that great here, might be a different case actually playing for his employers though.

smudgie 02-07-2013 18:08

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Sampson was without a doubt the worst loan signing ive ever seen, he was absolutely appalling in every way.

Agreed Podge will always give you 100%, BUT as others have said, has spent alot of time out injured and will never be more than a 10 ish or so goal a season man.

cashman 02-07-2013 18:23

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Has anyone actually any idea who are the lads on trial this week? Reckon Nelson on Sat should be interesting? Can't wait.:)

Pendle Red 02-07-2013 18:33

Re: July 1St Tomorrow.

Podge was quick out of the blocks last season with goals, form took a bit of a dip but blimey so did the team then he was out injured and when he came back proved his worth in a team that had then upped the ante. He will do okay for the Shrimps.

Sampson think Accy Mad got it right did not look interested when he came on loan but fresh start they may see a different player.

Anyway enough of the past Shay McCartan welcome to Stanley and all the best for a bright future, still think we are at least three experienced heads short and a couple of loanees but always look forward to seeing Triallists so roll on Saturday
