I have high hopes. We will shock a lot of people. And if we do get promoted Stanley won't be underestimated anymore.

I'm with T.M. .....what are you lot on?

Still I suppose it is the right time for optimism ...... but with a rookie manager .....mid table will do for me with a really good cup run..........and no financial frighteners during the season ........

Come On Stanley!:thankya:

i'm with Crown Grounder ... mid-table, cup run, and no SOS rubbish.

Still, most of the team from last season has remained and the last 12/13 games was promotion form. We've lost Molyneux, Boco and Amond and replaced with Webber, Windass, Richardson and Atkinson. Webber for Amond is a great swap, can Windass or Richardson replace Boco? I doubt we'll replace Molyneux but in all honesty we relied on that one player far too much last season, if the rest of the field can pick up the slack then we shouldn't miss him.

As for all teams, a good start is essential. If we hadn't started so well last year we'd have been dead and buried by Easter. With such a tough looking start we'll gather some momentum if we can get a good return, and that could be the catalyst for a surprising year. I can't see the league being as competitive as it was last time out so we've got to pick the points up against the numpties.

Play-off threateners until the last few games will do for me.

Season can end now as far as I'm concerned - Survival has been a recurring miracle long may it continue!

What have you been drinking , must have been good !!

You think replacing a proven league 2 goalscorer with a 32 year old injury prone player who before yesterday had scored 2 goals in 4 years is "a great swap":confused::confused:

Come off it, Red. 16 goals in 78 appearances (79 now)? Depends what you mean by "proven league 2 goalscorer". Our Peter Murphy has 9 in 111 games, so maybe you would call him a proven L2 goalscorer too? Engage your brain before posting meaningless rubbish on here if you want credibility.

Re: Possible Promotion for Stanley? what do you think?

come off it Morecambe Red, I know yer defending Amond because he's rocked up at your place but he's really not all that. He has something about him I'll grant you that but his goalscoring record outside of The League of Publand is laughable. He puts a shift in running about all over the gaffe, but in front of goal he's not that good. Acceptable for teams like Morecambe and Stanley when you've only got so many pound notes to go around - but he's not the player to push on with.

Webber on the other hand has something to prove. He's played at the higher levels and seems to have suffered through injuries, if he stays fit he'll be worth two of Amond.

If he had stayed fit he'd still be playing in the Championship, Amond did stay fit and is now playing at Cockleshell Bay.
