Nicky Hunt injury

Anybody any news? Dan reckon its a bad one. Anyone see what happened?

I hope he's okay, he's a big part of our defence and a proper leader.

Re: Nicky Hunt injury

Dans just put on facebook and twitter that it looks like knee ligament damage and more will be known on monday. Gutted if that is the case.

Just another position we need more cover for and will get nowhere near the quality of replacement that Nicky himself has.

I would have no hesitation putting Winnard in there.

Bad news for Nicky though :(

Was obvious to us twas a bad un Nicky don't stay down when he gets a knock, great shame fer the bloke fer me has been our best player so far.:( Dino certainly won't let us down, but wi respect he aint no Nicky. An aside to this twas a good game ruined by a complete tosspot of a ref.

Sincerely hope not, but it's a fair question given his injury record.

No its not, its fair.
He is getting on - a big injury will likely keep him out all season.
I presume he is on a 1 year deal, no guarantee Beattie will want to keep him on.

You have exposed your true self again cashman.

Re: Nicky Hunt injury

No one will know until the scans are done, just hope the players self-assessment are a bit premature. It sounds like his studs got stuck in the pitch, hope its just a bad jar and will settle down

Dav. You should know by now that any one who does not agree totally with the man who has an opinion about anything is

Stupid / Ignorant / A liar / A troll - Perm any number from four.

And it is either

"Simple as" or "End of story"

(or some dodgy Pseudo-dialect version of the above)

Well i wonder which one of those you are? Makes no odds at all who agrees or disagrees, But this thread Davo started is about a injury (Possibly serious) of one of our players, Yet yeh aint bothered to comment at all about that. In fact yer more concerned about jumping to the defence of yer buddy, so yeh should add "Pathetic" to yer list.

Dav007, question for you...

Do you sit there at your keyboard and deliberately compose questions that you know are bound to be argumentative, or are you truly that "daft"?

Id like to think that you do it deliberately, however to be honest I have a sneaky feeling Im wrong.................

Hope the injury is not as bad as feared.

Re: Nicky Hunt injury

Seems to me folks that any injury to any player in our Squad, be it Nicky Hunt's sad blow, or the knock that Peter Murphy took which seemed to dampen his enthusiasm somewhat, will have a strong knock-on effect wherever and whenever it occurs at a time when the ineptitudes so apparent yesterday afternoon are going to rely on our more experienced players to eradicate them !
Bury really were poor and a point or three was there for the taking...at least those were my feelings as I left Gigg Lane.
But unlike previous posts, I am in one of my lyrical moods and feel moved to offer to JB and his injured warriors a line or two which I used to call 'A Song for
disenchanted Strategy Planners'...but now seem to apply just as easily to The Reds...( And Sinatra's version of this Song is megalicious ...as they say!)...

Nothing's impossible, I have found
For when my chin is on the ground.
I pick myself up, Dust myself off
And start all over again.
Don't lose your confidence
If you slip , Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off, And start all over again.
Work like a soul inspired Until the battle of the day is won.
You may be sick and tired, But you'll be a man, my son.
Will you remember the famous men
Who had to fall to rise again?
So take a deep breath Pick yourself up...
Dust yourself off And start all over again.

Alfred.E. thinks that this would make an ideal 'Song for Stanley '.

(Pardon my indulgence last night's half-bottle of Absolut is to blame !)

I asked a simple question and pointed out the likely outcome after reading the posts before mine.

You and cashman always seek out the negativity

Ive quite enjoyed some of your controversial posts Dav over the last few months but this one is a little OTT.

Fact 1. Hunt signed a 2 year deal.

Fact 2. Until the swelling goes down we wont even know the extent of the injury.

To ask the question if his season and Stanley career is over is very harsh to say the least.

agreed smudgie the majority of knee ligament injuries are sprains and not tears and they tend to settle down quickly
here's wishing Nicky a speedy recovery

Nicky Hunt's knee injury not as bad as first thought. He's damaged medial ligaments but doesn't need surgery.Medical staff reluctant to put a timescale on recovery with much rehab to do but more like 6 weeks than 6 months
