Re: Jack Hudson...
Joe,
I share in the sadness felt at Jack's passing, and remember much of the dedicated service which he gave to the Club, much of which was in a 'sleeves rolled up' capacity !. Jack had a wicked sense of humour and loved to tell a gag or two..didn't reckon too much of my 'corn' though... unfortunately !. Cricket-wise, he was a fiercely competitive Bowler and remembering the occasion when I stopped one of his quicker deliveries with my 'box' still brings tears to my eyes. Many happy memories of Jack, many reasons to be grateful for helping to ensure a future for t'Stanley in bleaker times, and a sincere passing of my condolences to his Family and friends. |

Re: Jack Hudson...
Rip Jack Hudson, When we were teenagers we played for Mount Pleasant in the Accrington Combination, Jack was a well built centre forward, we also at that time had a lad larger than Jack lived on Barnes Square called Mexi, inside right and the inside left was another large but well known Claytoner Stanley Abbott, give them the ball, they could not run but would knock anyone down in there way. Memories Last time I saw Jack was on Colne Dynamos ground where we were sponsor of the game, long time ago, he had someone with him who I used to go to one day college with can only remember his last name Harker. he at that time gave the impression that he was connected with Stanley.

Re: Jack Hudson...
Can anyone post a bio of Jack so I can find out about him?
Did he play for the club? Or was he a servant of the field? Or both? |
Re: Jack Hudson...
That's the man.
