ASFC = club for rent

Sorry guys - I also thought it was ridiculous. Why didn't they just announce it at their next home match. I was asked to put it over the tannoy more times but thought that 3 was more than enough.

Aldred and adadayi (you know who I mean) the only players who looked like they'd played football before!

You can pick critisisum with anyone !!

The centre forward missed a absolute sitter, were there man scores from the same position.

Aldred (who played well ),didn't react as quick as there man for the first goal, and what was he doing chasing the ball in the right back area (hunt didn't have a man ),for the second.

For me,it's not that the players aren't good enough,it's concentration and knowing your role in the team and NOT playing for yourself ---it's a team game, you win as a team and lose as one

I half agree with you.
Its a mixture of a lack of organisation and game plan but also a lack of ability with some of our players.

Davo, you obviously know your footie and as you know confidence plays a major role in a players performance, just as much as fitness.Players start passing on responsibility and the game plan/focus goes out the window.
We really should draw a line under our poor start and get back to basics of pass and move built on the back of clean sheets.
Our first eleven will give most teams a tough game,so we need to remain positive and the tide will turn

One item of concern that gets overlooked is leadership, we dont have any leaders.
I dont see why Beattie doesnt give the captains armband to winnard or aldred?

I think all ten out-field players need to be step up and be leaders, play without fear and push themselves to the limit ,results will follow,of that i am sure

Well I am now going to put in my 2`pennies. What I saw was a team who should have been camped in the Dale box in the 2nd half yet were too busy passing it around the back 4. How Connor Whickham got MOM I will never know. Lee Naylor for me had the best game by a Stanley player and gets subbed. Why? The final 2 subs stunk of desperation to me. They should have been brought on midway through the 2nd half at the very latest. I personally would have taken McCartan and Whickham or Naismith off as they were too lightweight when attempting to try running passed defenders. For me Gray, Hatfield should hve started. Get Carver back from his loan spell, at least he is a goal scorer at this level. Unless things change very quickly, I fear it may be thanks, but no thanks Mr Beattie (and yet I really want(ed) him to succeed).

Connor Whickham? I didn't hear the MOM announcement, but it should have gone to a player who is actually on our books, surely?

Re: Rochdale Game

Naylor had a very good game imho, but was knackered through lack of games i thought, also took a slight knock, so a very wise substitution i thought, Carver gives 100% but is not yet up to Div2 level (soon will be i hope) which is why hes out on loan to the Division just below the league now. People seem to be forgetting the small squad wi big injuries, panic seems to me setting in, which shows character to me.

Absolutely devastated. If we had battered them and they had bravely hung on then that would be a.different matter. However wr asked them very few questions and to be honest they looked the more dangerous even with 10. Where was the effort and the passion? We are used to losing....but this side looks beaten before they even step onto the pitch. Gutless and effortless.

It's all well and good stating how JB is a nice persin and has ushered in a new era of proffesionalism etc but football is a results business. The fact this appears on paper to be a very talented side makes our inepitude even more confusing. Why were the subs held back so long? And someody please tell me the logic of not allowing the keeper up for a last minute corner?

Have to say to me the second half, against 10 men, Can only be 2 options to me, (1) J.B. used the wrong tactics, or (2) we got a team of cretins that ignored em. If anyones got another option please tell me?

Seen as you've just torn apart our two best players.....sounds like our entire squad lacks quality!! And there's me trying to be positve!!!

Re: Rochdale Game

Darwin,I did say Aldred played well ,just making a point about the bigger picture. When playing against ten men your fullbacks are key and need to push on,but they just ran out of steam due to lack of games.
JB let it unfold for a while before we went three at the back.
Fair play to rochdales defending, but we really should have scored more

3) Dale just stuck to their 2nd half game plan..... ;) :) The thing with the corner flag was disgusting and warranted a card - no place for that on a footy field!! :)
