Draw Sunday afternoon around 1-30pm on ITV.

No word as yet, but fully expect ASFC to be "Ball no 1"

Re: FA Cup 1st Round

I'd like a home draw against somebody we can easily beat. We need the £18,000 prize money for getting to the second round; and could do with some TV fees!

I can't find details of TV money on the FA site but if anyone's interested, prize money and TV fees are listed on this Lincoln City site:

I toyed with them, but Daventry Town are in Southern League Div One Central - a whole division lower. They did win 6-1 away today, but that was at Hartley Wintney .......... Who? :p (it's a village in Hampshire, apparently - Combined Counties League (Premier Division))

Think we'll go for them. At our place. Take the money and the place in Round 2 :D

Could have been better. Might have half a chance at a decent attendance though.

Gutted.
They have had a major injury list this season and have started poorly.
Could be a good tine to play them. Will Ian Goodison still be suspended?

Re: FA Cup 1st Round

For me, the cup this year should just be about how much can we earn in gate receipts and prize money, I'm not bothered about how far we go as long as we have one big payday on the way. Tranmere at home isn't exactly like winning the lottery, but they are struggling, we are at home, they might bring 800-1000 and we *might* get a bigger payday in the next round. I would take an embarrassing 10-0 thrashing at Old Trafford in the 3rd round because it would leave us financially secure for the season. So much for the romance of the FA Cup :D

The only competition that matters for the competition sake is the league.

I would be surprised if they took more than 200; it wont be a bumper attendance that's for sure.

Are yeh sure dav? we took best part of 300 to Morecambe yesterday.

Re: FA Cup 1st Round

I do reckon it'll be more, they average 4000 at home, its at the weekend, we are local (ish). I would be very surprised if it's less than 400. TBH, with 1100 at the last game, anything over 1500 would be counted as a 'bumper attendance'. Every cloud and all that :D

Their season so far has been poor compared to last season,
They normally only take away between 200 - 600,
Accrington away is not a glam tie and winter will be here soon.

I got that information of a Tranmere supporting friend.
Most people on this forum may find it useful, expect for Carpon who wont believe a word of it unless it comes from a journalist.

For example he reckons they will take 400 to Preston on Saturday.

One thing he did say, if Accrington do a price promotion, they could take as many as 700.

On the footballing front, he expects Ronnie Moore to play his first 11 and go out to win Vs Stanley, they will be taking it seriously.

Has to be minimum £10 adult price. FA Cup has minimum prices set.

Re: FA Cup 1st Round

Didn't know that lancsdave,

£10 is a fair price IMO.

Should get a crowds nearer 2,000 than 1,000 if it was £10 or £12.

Depends on Tranmere's view, they have to agree the price

Some of us think you get a rougher ride than you deserve on here.

We'd find it easier to persuade others if you stopped looking for unnecessary fights!

it was a light joke with cashman.
Cashman is one of my favourite users of Accyweb and someone who I actually agree with on a lot of things.
It was light hearted fun.
Sorry if anyone took it the wrong way.

Stanley can set whatever price they want as long as it is a minimum of £10 for non concs.

The days of agreeing prices is over, probably due to clubs often not being able to agree. Now it is just down to the home club.

Strangely enough the rule still applies to the qualifying rounds. Nowt like making it hard work for the little clubs is there ? :)
