Agree,
Wycombe have the best stewards in league 2. Always a good welcome and they leave you alone. |
Re: Wycombe Match Thread
I've also a soft spot (!) for the stewards at Dagenham. It sounds like it may touch a raw nerve from yesterday but I'll never forget the time we were stood behind the goal in horizontal rain and the Daggers' stewards invited us into the small covered stand for the second half. Of course it kept them out of the rain too, but it was a nice gesture that has stayed with me.

Re: Wycombe Match Thread
With regards to stewards, think they need to speak to the management, I say this because I was informed by a club official that there are 3 rows of seats PLUS standing room at the rear and that the Whinney Hill away stand holds about 200. So any steward that told Wycombe fans to sit down, were, I am afraid, in the wrong!

Re: Wycombe Match Thread
I think I have worked out what our current playing formation is......
It is the impressive Betinneli in goal with a square of eight outfield players with a big hole in the middle where two midfield players are clearly needed! Every team we play seem to know how to exploit that big hole and attacks come straight down the middle of the field often from breakdowns after our own attacks, especially after free kicks and corners! I am sure that JB is trying to get some bodies in for midfield. Peter Murphy for me has Stanley written through every part of his body like Blackpool rock but I honestly think that had he not scored another late goal that his rating would have been about 3 out of 10. Luke Joyce plays too deep and takes too much time deciding where he is going to pass the ball and hence often ends up passing it sideways or back. Creative enforcers needed urgently to fill the hole! Defence looks good especially Aldred who would make a good caption for me. He is a "Captain Courageous" IMHO and would lead by example. Kayode is a must to start next match with Gray or Webber playing off him like Lutel James used to do off Paul Mullin years ago! Anyway, confidence is better, we look like we are expecting to score goals and have a grand "never say die" attitude. ON STANLEY ON:mosher: |
