Tranmere thread

Early up for this but (maybe of interest to those who take part in the weekly 'guess the score') I just noticed that Stanley have dragged themselves off the bottom not only of League 2 but also of the table for the number of "shots made".:)
Tranmere, on the other hand, remain at the bottom of the table of League 1 clubs for number of shots so far this season.:):)
One shot on target on Saturday may win it !

A good time to play Tranmere with them having so many players unavailable.

And we are 9th in the League2 recent form table, with Paul Cook's lot 2nd bottom!

Give it 3 more games and I reckon that one (and the real table) will be looking even better.

Good Chance to upset the Odds and I would suspect our lads will be chomping at the bit for a game against Higher League Opposition who's going to be the Stanley hero?

Its exactly 10 years to the day tomorrow from when we beat Huddersfield in the great FA cup game. Lets hope a similar result tomorrow and its certainly a good chance to get through to round 2

Bump.

Stats suggest we're doing ok ... Windass for Hunt? Wouldn't Liddle have been more obvious as a replacement?

For the sake of fornication. 1-0 Tranmere. :(

Floodlit robbery! We had only ourselves to blame after dominating for much of the game and making more chances than probably in our last 3 matches combined. A lack of quality and composure in front of goal let Tranmere off the hook and a defensive cock up handed them the win. Don't know who our no.20 sub was but he impressed me a lot, showing the enterprise and directness which Joyce seems incapable of, and he should start in place of the captain next time. No chance, I suppose!
Get them all in for shooting practice tomorrow, JB. What a missed opportunity.

Still trying to work out exactly what happened to let Ryan Lowe in like that??? I though he was offside & presumably so did our lads, harsh lesson in playing to the whistle hopefully learned. That said, enjoyed the game much more than I'd thought I would, thought it was a strange time to give young Josh Windass his debut but he did well.
Ah well, supppose it's time for that old chestnut - 'now we can concentrate on the league'

FRUSTRATED !!!!!!!:thumbsdow
We totally outplayed Tranmere for fthe irst 35 minutes and we could and SHOULD have been TWO or even three up before half time! We were still better than them in the second half until our players did a spot of "spectating" in the last minute of normal time!!!!
Redraine is spot on, we just needed that compsure in front of goal.
Koyode deserved the man of the match award as he won 97% of the ball against their back two and also created much of our attacking moves!
Pierro had another good match too, he worked his socks off and was always at their defence.
We looked like the team from one division higher in every way today except for not scoring!!!
It was great to see us playing some lovely football but we must be more ruthless and score when we are on top!
Could have done with a bit of a cup run for the cash of course!:help:

Agreed with the above comments.

Tranmere where there for the taking and we should have been out of the site in the first 30 mins. Which ironically is the best ive seen us play this season. A combination of dodgy Tranmere defending and some half decent passing saw us play some good football.

Defensively again we looked pretty decent. Aldred & Deano look to have found a decent partnership which is good to see. Hopefully Hunt's knock isnt too bad???

Naismith again for me wasn't great, would have liked to see Mahoney thrown on for the last 30 mins.

Big Kay I thought was immense up front, and just needed someone to be on the same wavelength. Was good to see young Windass finally given a few minutes.

A frustrating day all round :(
