I should think he wanted to take the course at the end of the season ,as he's a 600 mile round trip from home to Stanley and he's a young family to consider so free time is hard to come by!!!

So the best result we can hope for is a £5000 fine? And who's going to pay that? The club have reduced admission prices and still the gates are down on last season, so where's the money going to come from? And what does it do from the club's already tarnished professional image, coming, as it does, on the heels of the betting fiasco? Whatever the ins and outs, I'm sure this could have been handled better.

A very short inadequate statement by the club, possibly to shield the person responsible for the cock-up.Do the share holders and fans not deserve a full and frank statement, instead of the club will make no further comment?

Just read the posts by Rochdale fans, they certainly have a lot of respect for JB and what he's achieved.

Re: Stanley Fined

To be fair to JB,he was probably going to be fast tracked this summer, but the Fa have collared him.
I would be surprised if he takes the sessions as he's got two qualified coaches, but it's Fa being pedantic.
In theory you have 12 practical sessions to complete before your final assessment(assuming you pass the theory),as long as the assessors are available, you could use Accis youth team and complete in under a month.
I am sure dean and Joycy do there final assessment in Feb so they could be the new Coley and Bell if things go pear shaped :)

No excuses really, but getting Your practical sessions in is a pain in the arse.
no fun playing on a Saturday and attending a all day session in Newcastle at 9am on Sunday.
The FA is bit of a joke IMHO and should be brought into the real world.
Heard a story about Andy Cole doing a session on finishing/movement and the assessor told him he wasn't doing it right, and in the end threw his bid in and jacked!
The assessor had only played at bottom rung but was a right jobs worth .

Assuming he has the FA's bits of paper, could just appoint Mr. Stephenson as manager and appoint Mr. Beattie as Director of Football, like other clubs have been known to do.
Once again, the FA proves that it's acronym is accurate.

All a bit class system, like saying if you have a degree you can do the job better than those who have been to college but actually lived in the real world.

To be fair the FA are probably right about it, UEFA Pro Licence holders include such great managers as Brian Laws, Steve Cotterill and Alan Knill, proof is in the pudding that these licences prove their worth ;)

Given our recent history - betting scandals with players and former MD, financial issues, bailouts, ownership wrangles etc, has it ever occurred to someone at the club that the FA may just be keeping an extra eye on us. Join the dots up!

Someone at the club then thought it was a good idea to ignore 2 FA warning letters on Beattie's coaching qualifications and now when charged, we can't even say he's already booked on the course. They run country wide so he could do some of it nearer his home.

Absolutely incredible mismanagement....again! Why can't someone at the club say we'll try and have 12 months where we don't make any negative headlines!

It just seems like Groundhog Day again! Players doing well on the pitch so we have to have something else off the pitch to bring us crashing back down to Earth. Its another Google Page Ranking disaster and leaves another stain on our already heavily tarnished reputation.

Betting scandals, money shortfalls, betting scandals, money shortfalls, wonder what's next?!

I really hope we can recruit someone external to the club who can put some proper procedures and structure into the club and whip the staff into action. Just seems like we have plenty of junior staff and not any senior staff to keep watch and take appropriate action. Maybe that's just me getting things wrong!

Full marks to Andrew Pomfret, the League's Customer Services Officer, for taking the time to respond. This is from his response:

As per The Football League definition, the manager ‘means the official of a club responsible for selecting the Club’s first team’. If he had been appointed Director, then he would not have been appointed as manager and therefore would not be responsible for the club’s first team or require managerial qualifications.

As you can read within the official statement issued, the club appointed a manager who did not have the required qualifications as per regulation 40, nor was on a pathways to achieve these qualifications. Please see that statement here The Football League | News | Football League | FL News | FDC fines Stanley.
