I've been given permission by Mick to post this on here, so I'd like to start it with a thank you to him!.

Anyway, so what is this about? Well I'm in my last year of Staffordshire University and as you know, it's dissertation time.

I'm researching Metrosexuality and more to the case what supporters of British based football fans think about it all considering many Metrosexual icons are indeed popular footballers like David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Hidetoshi Nakata and Luke Chadwick...well maybe not the last one.

Before you start I would like to state, metrosexuality has NOTHING to do with homosexuality.

So whether you think metrosexuality is great, you consider yourself as a metro, or if you hope that other blokes should embrace it

or

You believe that it's against masculinity, you think metro's are utter berks and a disgrace to men around the world.

Then please say it, if it's something that really winds you up or if you're really passionate about then don't hold back, you'll be anonymous so you can swear, go on for eternity and be really truthful. Just please fill it out and hopefully in great detail to give me some great literature to work with.

Let me enlighten you Cashy, apparently it's a term for a bloke who is particularly meticulous about their appearance - can't think of too many of the Stanley faithful who would match that description tbh :rolleyes:

I don't fit that description either ;)

I just want football fans opinions on it because it's quite interesting considering the stereotypical football fan is a traditional masculine, mans-man type of person; yet some many footballers are metrosexuals.

(I just can't understand how Mick would give permission for this post) this is a Stanley football fans forum not a open university forum in my opinion your question is not relevant to Accrington Stanley football

I asked him if it was ok to post on the forum, and he directed me to post it on here. The fact is I want a broader spectrum of football fans - being a Stoke fan, most of my responses have come from Stoke fans, so sort of devalues the fact I want fans who support British based teams not just Stoke fans; I would just like some responses from you Stanley fans and I thought this forum would be the best place to get that.
