Not all those points are possible because of the permutations of teams to play each other :)

Bristol can't get 56 if Wycombe beat them, they can only get 53.

Torquay can only get 45 if Wycombe beat them.

And Wycombe could get 56

There's a few more but my tea is here now :)

Hartlepool can't get 10 points from 3 games, even if the monkey scores lol

Torquay, and Bristol unless Wycombe lose at home to Bristol and away to Torquay. But Hartlepool are trying hard to get involved ..........

Re: League 2 relegations

Just 1pt from our remaining 3 games would make us safe as long as wycombe draw at least 1 of there remaining games:) Torquay and Wycombe for the drop

Re: League 2 relegations

I have just been doing some mathematical scenarios re the last 3 fixtures of the 6 clubs below Stanley (excluding Torquay) and it transpires that, provided they maintain their superior goal difference, Stanley require only 3 more points for survival, even if Northampton win all their remaining games.

This is because Wycombe, Morecambe, Exeter, Bristol Rovers and Hartlepool are all engaged in fixtures against at least one of their fellow strugglers – in fact Hartlepool face both Morecambe and Exeter. In fact, if none of the matches involving these five teams is a draw, Stanley need only 2 points!

I can count up to 6 on one hand, which makes the whole scenario even more interesting :)

Re: League 2 relegations

You can't bet on Torquay so taking them for granted.

The next 3 are very close:

Northampton -15/8
Wycombe - 2/1
Bristol R - 3/1

Like last year it is very close with the outsiders:

Hartlepool - 16/1
Exeter - 18/1
Morecombe - 20/1
Stanley - 80/1

Shows what a difference the two last minute points made.

Re: League 2 relegations

Where can I get 18/1 on Exeter?
That will pay for my season ticket.

Can't see Exeter getting any more points this season, there only saving grace could be Northampton who have a tough run in.

You don't think they'll beat Torquay at home?

Torquay and Northampton should go down because they've been the bottom two teams for most of the season.

Win stanley AFC

The league never lies, you end up where you deserve to finish (excluding any point deductions such as Aldershot in the conference).

Southend is huge. If Northampton win and we lose we are a point above them. Make no mistake until the fat lady sings we are still in a relegation battle. Put it to bed tomorrow please.

Lost in Cornwall 21-04-2014 07:23

Re: League 2 relegations

But if Bristol and Wycombe lose, a point would make us safe and even if we lose today and they draw next week it would take biggish wins from them on the last day and some big defeats for us to send us down. Come on the cod army and Rochdale as well as the Stanley today.
