Bonfire Night.....

Parkin, anybody? :D

Fleetwood Town: Jon Parkin and Alan Goodall released

"Fleetwood Town have released veteran striker Jon Parkin and versatile defender Alan Goodall following their promotion via the League Two play-offs.

Parkin spent two seasons with the Cod Army, scoring 22 goals in 64 outings, while Goodall won two promotions during his three years at Highbury."

Oh, yes please! But would he take a huge cut in wages, even though he should have comfortable stash by now at this stage in his career? His goal return is better than it seems, as I don't think he was a regular starter with them.

Would love to sign Parkin, but feel he will be out of our price range.

Think he'll have a choice of quite a few L2 clubs with bigger budgets than ours.

Maybe Beattie will be able to sell it to him.......

Our old mate You Fat Bastard turned down a new contract at Gillingham ........ Don't think we could afford the cost of all the pies he'd need to keep fit, though :D

Still trying to work out the Laws of Aerodynamics that allowed him to get off the ground into the horizontal position when he headed the third (?) of his hat-trick at our place for the Cobblers the season before last ..........and how they managed to fill in so quickly the deep crater he must have made when he landed!
