Ian Renshaw
Afternoon all.
This week I was informed by a soon-to-be in-law that this cousin had played for Stanley. The player's name was Ian Renshaw and was probably around the Crown in the late 90's/early 00's. Can't offer much else information apart from the fact that he played at Marine (we think before he came to Accy). Does anyone know anything about him? I imagine his record with the reds was brief as I can't recall anything about him from around that time. Cheers. |
Re: Ian Renshaw
only thing I can find on google is this IAN RENSHAW - Marine Football Club
which led to this picture of team with Ian Renshaw http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/marine...os-546979.html |
Re: Ian Renshaw
Must admit I dont recognise the name either.
Though in that period we did use a staggering number of players every season. |
Re: Ian Renshaw
he never played for the first team, i will have a look at the reserves

Re: Ian Renshaw
Aaron Crawshaw, John Shaw, John Halshaw, George Shaw, Ray Crawshaw, Alan Shaw, Vinnie Shaw, Kevin Bradshaw, Bobby Grimshaw, Chris Grimshaw, Charlie Bradshaw, and the effervescent Duncan Robertshaw are all the somethingShaws ever to play for Stanley.
I've searched under 'Ren' as well but I'm not listing all them as we've had more than a few Lawrences and Darrens :-) I've tried all the Ians as well and there's nowt remotely similar although Ian Robertsons thick Glaswegian accent could well have been interpreted as Renshawson :) Stats include things like Floodlit trophy matches as well so he has categorically never played in a competitive game for Stanley Reminds of a guy who came into my workplace 3 or 4 years ago as a sales rep. When we got talking and I told him I was from Accrington he said he used to play for Stanley, I checked his business card again and bluntly announced "11 starts and 1 sub appearance 1983-84" (might be slightly wrong, but its how I remember the story). His jaw nearly hit the floor! |
Re: Ian Renshaw
