Getting Betts on loan last season was a bit of a lifesaver and if Joe does as well that will be great. But the loan system isn't half hard on No 2 keepers - months of benchwarming and splinter-gathering waiting for something to happen to the No 1, then it happens, get half a game, maybe a game and a half, and whoosh in comes a loanee ........

well,
i thought Lumley did ok, just lacked game experience and was error prone which might have been due to his lack of game time.
I hope he goes onto have a good career.

Come on, Cashy. I know we had a laugh together at DAV007's expense at Boro when his error probably gifted them their goal, but you can't deny his absolutely brilliant display in the second half when he performed miracles in keeping Boro at bay. Unbelievable doesn't even do it justice!
