Would like to think Proctor, Winnard, Gray, liddle (is he fit?), hunt (at RB) and Mingoia will all come back.

Let's hope he doesn't take it out on Josh :D

Cant see Dean,Lids or Hunty starting to be honest, defo Grey and Minola.
Probably give the lads a chance of redeeming themselves after Tuesday.
Just hope they have had the match videos out, learn from the mistakes and defend properly, although pace for me is still a worry.

And I hope a visit from a Sports Psychologist ! , as there seems to be an expression of bewilderment as to what is going on around on around them on the faces of some of our team !.
Perhaps they find it difficult after the first twenty minutes or so to remember exactly what JBs pre match strategy chat was all about !...or too dim to translate his guiding thoughts into positive action ?. Either way they appear to lose their shape and motivation so rapidly and easily that the opposition find it all too easy to , if I can borrow an FA19 expression, give them a good rinsing !!.

I close by adding again Sir Bobby Robson's famous paradigm..
It's goals that win matches...Winning matches brings success.
No goals and you lose matches...losing matches means a one way trip to Soccer oblivion !.

Quo vadis Stanley ??.

I was under the impression Proccy had signed a 2 year deal but wasn't registered in time for the match against Carlisle, although I believe that ha now been rectified and will more than likely start on Saturday. :)

Disagree Yonmon with your closing address !, if you don't score you don't necessarily lose the game,if you also keep a clean sheet.
Indeed you can't lose if you keep a clean sheet !!! :)

Will have to miss this one as we are having our first holiday of the year - 6 days near sunny Whitby, we hope!. Just hope Carver isn't benched until the 85th minute again. Come on Stanley, lets start the revival today!!!

According to preview of today's game on fishy site, the ref is Keith Hill not Darren Drysdale?? Maybe the fa is letting us have 2 refs today in the hope that between them they'll get some decisions right

P.S. Just seen on the 'Winding up order' thread that according to Mr.T I retired as a moderator from this message board, case of mistaken identity there Mark - it was StanleyMad who was the moderator not me. Sorry to hijack today's game thread but couldn't set the record straight after Mr. T's post as that thread is now closed.

Orwellian information control aside, there's a game on.

Lumley
Hunt Atkinson Aldred Buxton
Mingoia Joyce Procter Naismith
Gray Carver

Great to see that Carver has been given his chance, here's hoping for a new start with some fresh blood in the side. Come on Accy.

1-1 Bell-Baggie, 2 minutes after the restart.

Looks a decent lineup.

How are we playing??? Sounded like a decent opening 45.

1-2 Bell-Baggie again. Joyce caught in possession.

Absolute garbage.

We will get cut adrift again if this carries on.

2-2. Gray. Flick on from Carver. Back in it.

3-2. Naismith. Keeper error. Nosebleeds. Come on Accy.

Great result from Stanley. Looking forward to reading folks' reports. How did Dr.Procter do? To pull it back after letting another lead slip shows great grit.
Well done to all concerned.

Re: Tranmere (H) Match Thread

Well we won it after proccy went off.:D Though he did ok today, for me Carver was outstanding worked his ass off, What struck me this aft is when Bury/Carlisle/Tranmere etc equalised there tails were up n went fer it,fact, our tails dont seem to go up when we take the lead, seem to sit back, when we equalised today was much better, WHY? overall a good 3 pts n hope they can now carry forward n hit the ground running.Mingoia once again ran his socks off, have still to be convinced about Joyce.:)

Re: Tranmere (H) Match Thread

What a entertaining match. First Tranmere goal was clearly offside (AGAIN undone by official who cannot keep up with the play), but for once, even though Stanley went 2-1 down, subs made by BT and the heads were still held high. Went on to get the equaliser and then the howler of the dodgy Tranmere keeper to let Naismith in. Good poachers goal! Negatives, silly booking for Naismith for time wasting, lack of urgency getting back for kick off after he scored. Could easily have added another couple of minutes for that. Joyce caught in possession, but I thought he had decent game today, the second Tranmere goal apart.
Positives - the crowd size although I fancy it may be a 50/50 split between Accy and Tranmere fans, they brought a good few. First win of the season.
Keep the faith as our ex gaffer used to say and onwards and upwards.

football19 06-09-2014 17:39

Re: Tranmere (H) Match Thread

Enjoyed the game and for once we had a bit of luck.
In the first half we defended as a back four, and not just bombing on(Buxton at left back).
They tried to play football and looked a decent side and we again went long.
The difference was their CBs were quick but crap and Carver and Grey chased them all day.
I wish I hadn't opened my gob at half-time to Yonmon as I predicted what they would do.
Simple really, they had a quick right winger and he just drifted centrally and bang two goals.
Give the lads credit and when windass come on for Proccy it give us some go forward.
At least we got our share of decisions today, but they will be curing making them subs at 2-1 up as we caught them cold.

Sounds like Gray and Carver up front worked a treat, which pleases me a lot as I have always been a fan of the (bigger than he was) blond lad! I just hope JB persists with this formation, certainly at home and possibly away. Unlike Football19 with his "clean sheet" approach I am a fan of the "you score 3 and we'll score 4" gung ho plan!

Only problem i can see wi that un is- if they score 3 were unlikely to score 4.

Re: Tranmere (H) Match Thread

Not negative Redraine,I would sooner us win 3-0 than 3-2 !!.
Believe me now when I say we won't be scoring three goals every game.they paid the price for playing a 20 and 21 year at CB.
Our last four games we have conceded nine goals, play like that and we will go down :(
Anyway,we should rejoice in our victory !!!

Re: Tranmere (H) Match Thread

Ok, it wasn't always pretty but all that matters at the end of the day is that our boys pulled off their first win of the season today - we might not all agree with the starting line up or timing of the subs etc, etc but we are now well & truly off the mark - onwards & upwards lads.& I for one can say I'm proud of the resilience shown today

I saw no way back at 1-2, it was a very unexpected win, but I suppose Stanley were due some luck.

Most Tranmere fans were in good spirits in the town centre afterwards, a good day all round.

Always interesting to read other fans views, if only to confirm that every club has it's moaners who will never be happy.

Our pitch is brilliant!!! only last season when other games were called off , waterlogged eg Blackburn Rovers etc, we played as our drainage is much improved. We have a groundsman who " mothers " the pitch. So Carlisle , don't moan about our pitch , we here in Accrington are very proud of it.

I think it was Tranmere fans complaining about the wet pitch in the link that Davo provided. Guess it never rains in Birkenhead.
Carlisle fans wouldn't complain about any other playing surface because they know Brunton Park, when it's not flooded, is the best in the country.

Most clubs water the pitch just before the game anyway. I hope that fan doesn't report it to the league that the rain got on the pitch :D

GREAT RESULT!:alright:
I missed the match as I was away in Scotland running in my 27th Ben Nevis Race!
I had a good run for a 62 year old and it totally made my day when, after the race, I read the text from my daughter about the three points!!!
Celebrated post race, and post match, with 7....... (possibly 8?) pints of good ale, with loads of runner friends in The Grog and Gruel in Fort William!

Just read the reports this morning and watched the 'Fishy' videos and sounds like a deserved win. I like the sound of the developing Carver / Gray partnership up front and the 'steel' that Procky has brought back.
Well done to JB and the squad.......:theband:
Onwards and upwards:thumbsup:
