Re: Well Worth a Read

Absolutely SUPERB !!!!:alright:
Obviously a football Fan to the core!:)
Every Stanley supporter and part time fan simply MUST READ THIS.
I wonder if there is a way of putting this out more publicly....
Like in The Accrington Observer and Lancashire Evening Telegraph perhaps.
The positivity that captures so well the "Essence" of our unique little club could be a great tool that could be used to bring on more fans.

egIt’s that unique Accrington Stanley factor, that never say die, all in it together, underdog against the world element in action, right before our eyes.
...Excellent stuff :theband:

It's what proper football is all about, long before the greedy people got involved and used it as a rich man's toy

I've never been to a football match(I can hear Wynonie howling!) but reading that makes me wonder what I've been missing. Well written with a love of football showing.
Maybe when I have time I should try it( Stanley of course!)

Re: Well Worth a Read

Hi guys,

Mat here from Chapter 6 September 6 2014. Accrington Stanley v Tranmere Rovers | Dreams of Victoria Park

Sorry i haven't joined up sooner - been crazy busy!

Firstly thank you so much for all your kind words about the blog - i'm only recounting my experiences of your wonderful club - so the thanks should go to you for everything you do to make this club so special and so intoxicating to someone like me.

I can't wait for my next Stanley trip to Northampton tomorrow. If you are there i'd love to say hi. I'll be with the twenty something girl with red hair!

Hopefully my next blog entry on Stanley will be at the Pompey game in December, then hopefully i'll be down at plymouth in Feb, and back up to Accrington in March for either the york or newport game.
Will definitely try to get to the last game of season as well.

If anyone wants to use the story from the blog please be my guest. As far as i am concerned the article only exists because of the wonderful people that make the club, and if they want to use it for any reason then they have my full blessing.

All the best

Mat

This has put such a big smile on my face. I am so happy to see Mat's blog take off and reach out to people.

The two times I have been to Accrington with Mat have been such amazing experiences and we've always felt so welcomed and relaxed.
The match tomorrow at Northampton will be great, especially as we have fond memories of that stadium.

Thank you all for taking the time to read the blog and share it with others, I know it means an awful lot to me but means the world to Mat.
You're all amazing.

Emma. (The twenty-something red head).

Sorry lads. No kisses for me today, I'm not feeling too good at the mo.

I very nearly wasn't going to be attending the match as well, but, I hate to let a good mate down, and I would hate to let you guys down & the Stanley team. So, I shall be wrapped up warm, probably looking like a zombie, but there to show my support either way.

See you later.
Em. x

It was a pleasure to meet you all yesterday.

I have only just recovered! What a match! Are me and Emma the only Stanley fans to have NEVER seen them lose?!

A MASSIVE thank you to the club for looking after us yesterday. It was, as always, a privilege. Can't wait for next time

Hey, you can't complain though, 5-4 is better than 3-2.

Was really great to meet you lot. It's such an honour to feel part of a community which is miles away from where we live.

Accrington has really grabbed a hold of me and I thoroughly enjoy travelling to see them, and the experience is now made even better by having such lovely people, such as yourselves, making us feel a part of everything.

Thank you and hopelly see you all soon.

another brilliant piece of writing from Southcoaststanley. More than worthy of appearing in the Observer & LET to inspire the apathetic among the Accy population. Well done Sir - wished I'd have chosen the Northampton game rather than Oxford to travel from the south coast myself - hey hum, on Stanley on. Hope to get a chance to say hello to yourself and Emma at Pompey in December - never won there either !

Worth noting from the blog this was stuck to. For a club that takes a lot of stick on here for it's 'tinpotness' worth mentioning they got it right and on time :)
