I am not of a peaceful mind, given recent events

I am not of sound mind either, but that's a different issue

I seldom if ever predict us to lose, but The Gods are stacked against us, I fear, this week

Cobblers 4 Stanley 1

Wynonie on track for a max 5 points at 89 mins - is this a record?

Believe me, Chimer, I was doing a little victory dance in the Manc Arndale...just for a minute then they had to go and spoil it all!

That's the attack sorted out then ....

Well apologies to anyone missing the report after the Oxford game – spent so long reading everybody’s blather ;) about the prodigals’ possible then certain return that I forgot I had a job to do on here myself …..:o

Usual sad story anyway, two wins on the trot against “good” teams :D followed by a game against a bunch of winless wonders – and the predictions are 22 for a third win, 12 for a draw and just 2 feartie boys still thinking the unthinkable :eek:. And one of the two doing reverse psychology in any case. So ….. 4 points for Tommy McQueen, taking him 2 points clear at the top of the shop, 3 for Outback Ozzy, and just 1 BP for Stanley’s consolation for 13 others. That’s all I’ve got to say about that ….. apart from applauding F19’s brinkmanship, posting at 1945 fazackerly as kick-off whistles sounded around the country.

So on to Northampton, fresh from a 5-1 thumping of Hartlepool, who scored first and obviously annoyed them. John and Jimmy hopefully managed to introduce themselves and their two instant loanees to the rest of the boys on the way down :), and we go and annoy the Cobblers by scoring first … prompt response and at 1-1 how are the predictions looking now?

Well the 21 eejits who thought we could win in these circumstances will have been in despair, and the 8 drawmongers less than hopeful that we wouldn’t yet again be going down after leading. The 9 realists will have been consoling themselves that they will be moving up the prediction league as Stanley sink back towards the basement.

Hang on a minute – 3-1 up at halftime? Must be some hope, surely :). 4-1 with 15 minutes to go? Yeees – 3 points nailed on! :thankya: 4-2 (78 mins) oh-oh …..:mad: 5-2 (84) phew! :)

Still 5-2 at 88 minutes – Wynonie’s on a maximum …. 5-3 (89) no problems, sorry Wyn :rolleyes: ….. 5-4 (94) wtf!!! :eek::eek::eek: Final whistle, risk of heart attack receding slightly …..:jimbo:

In fact, I was at an auntie’s 100th birthday party. One of my cousins told me we were 4-1 up and I assumed he was winding me up, another told me the final score was 5-4, but I assumed they had hatched a dastardly plot until I saw it for myself on the telly.

I just can’t understand why nobody got a maximum this time :D. 4 points for Wyn, 3 points for the other 20 eejits, and 1 for Div3North and Yerself for predicting their 4 :p. Regaining the faith brought rewards to Teach, again, who moved back into contention with last week’s Top 3 failing to trouble the scorers, though Tommy McQueen retained a 2 point lead at the top. NigeB joined by Teach in equal 2nd, Ange B a point back in 4th and MikeA jumping out of the pack into a clear 5th.

The attached table shows everyone with 3 points or more, which includes everyone who played this week, including Choirboy who picked up 3 with his first shot this season.

Not sure if Alvin the Chipmunk’s 17-0 prediction was a typo, but as 1-7, 1-0 and 7-0 would all result in the same outcome I’m not too worried on this occasion.

On the assumption that JC must have focused on attack on the bus on the way down, we should be OK for the rest of the season once he sorts out the defence on the training ground :) – so roll on Plymouth, On Stanley On!!
