Sligo have announced early!!

Has the FA clearance come through? Is the game going ahead? I'm off to Belfast on Sunday morning so will drive over to Sligo if the match is definitely on.

They were getting kit ready this morning o the game must be on. Iwould imagine it's a big game to Sligo, to Stanley it's probably a contractual pain in the ass game, hence the low key publicity :)

Low key publicity or not, surely this game should've been scheduled to suit both teams - or is it just a matter of doffing our cap to whatever is deemed appropriate?

Would imagine there is no schedule to suit both teams, seasons run differently. No idea of the in's and outs of the negotiations, seems odd for either club. No idea which team is going, I reckon it will probably be a similar group to Tuesday nights game.

The biggest irony is that Stanley seem to be taking part in an opening ceremony for Sligo's new training facilities :)

Why would it be a big game for us? You think Accrington are some sort of crowd puller over here? It's a pointless game but it's at Accrington's expense so whatever we make on the gate is a bonus, it won't be much but it's better than nothing at this stage of the season for us. The main point of the day is the official opening of our astro pitch, so I suppose it makes sense to have some sort of game on for people to head along to after.

Our Chairman said Accrington were the only club willing to come over here for a game at this time of the season, I think Coleman felt a duty to do it as a thank you for us letting him go with no fuss.

Judging by your response I guess not :) What sort of attendance do you think it will get ?

Hard to know, our home attendances have dipped the last few league games as there has been nothing to play for so we've only been getting the hardcore of about 1,000. So for a nothing to play for friendly on a Sunday afternoon, if there's more than 500/600 I'll be surprised.
