Joyce on pens? would have thought Proccy would be all over them if the strikers weren't having any of it

I can understand it - suspect Joyce will quite happily slot it into the bottom corners of the net.

Molyneux on for Carver.

Perhaps a Coley policy to have the skipper on penalties. Whatever it is I approve. Well done Joycey. Come on Accy.

Can't remember Edwards wearing the armband and he could dispatch a spot kick

Excellent interview with James Gray on radio lancs at the final whistle.

The idiots who said Coleman shouldn't be manager because he can't get the players fit and he isn't professional enough should give it a listen.

James is on a special fitness regime including sessions at edge hill university to ensure he is match fit for next Saturday. All set out by John coleman.

You know what, I had actually convinced myself that we won that. Worrying!

Fair play to the lads as well as John and Jimmy.

I must admit they wernt my choice but what a fantastic start they have made.

Long may it continue :)

Re: Mansfield match thread

Just back from the game and it was a weird game !.
First chance I've had to look at how coley has set them up (4-2-3-1) and wasn't disappointed in the first half, indeed we gave them a football lesson and should have been four up as the keeper saved three one on ones when we cut them up with outstanding football.
The second half they come out the blocks, stopped us playing and launched the ball at every opportunity .
There is hoof ball, but mansfield took it to another level.
Our CBs got no protection but stood firm and will feel tomorrow they have fought mike Tyson
We deserved the win and showed we can battle as well as play, very happy !!!,
I nearly forgot,another clean sheet :)

Re: Mansfield match thread

Agree wi football19 first half yeh woulda thought we were the home side,A concern to me is last 2 games we seem to have sat back second half? The defence were solid n held em out,But that wont always be the case, Another very welcome n today a deserved 3 pts, Mansfield though could have got summat when down to 10 men, couple of decent chances, needs thinking about imho.

football19 04-10-2014 19:07

Re: Mansfield match thread

Agree Cashy, although with a bit of composure we could have easily put the game to bed when they threw men forward, but we made poor decisions when in good areas.
This will give Coley something to moan about !!!

Spare a thought for Tom Aldred who apparently lost one of his front teeth on the pitch today, talk about putting yourself on the line!

We were told in the crown when we got home that Stevo hadn't travelled with the team yesterday because he'd hurt his back

Not just one G and T either 19 !....plus I insisted that a whole crowd around a banquet table forgot about their namby pamby premiership clubs and drank a toast to our great club !.

Had to put up with a few 'Accrington Stanley who are they ?' jibes from some inebriated Arsenal fans , but they don't know any better anyway !....but it was well worth it !.

See you for D and R on Saturday !.....medication time !.

Just got home from a six day break in the caravan at Keswick.:hothothot
I enjoyed a terrific Saturday night after seeing the result!:thepint:
Well done to Coley, Jimmy and the boys!

ON STANLEY ON:Banane59:

PS WEATHERSPOONS have just opened up a pub, (last tuesday), in the old Council Chambers in the centre of Keswick.
So reliable, cheap real ale too, now in The Lake district!

I've been drinking great real ale in the Lakes for over 30 years :) - doubt Weatherspoons are going to add much to the experience.

Cheap, maybe :D
