We prefer your comments Dav,much more controversial and mentally challenging.

Come on THE STANLEY.
Let's see the boys take thre points today off a much BIGGER club.
I seem to recall watching Carlisle v Burnley in the old Division 1 in the seventies in front of about 17,000 people!
ON STANLEY ON

Mingoia not even on the bench. Coley says he wants his players to give 100%. He always gives 110% Seems he is out in the cold. Mind you Carver also absent, so it seems we have an embarrassment of riches!

Accrodign to BBC

Carlisle 9 shots
3 on target

Stanley 4 shots
0 on target

No wonder we havent scored.

Glad I chose to stop at home I missed an awful display by us apparently.

Re: Carlisle (A) Match Thread

What we need, and have needed for years, is a big, strong, pacy centre forward who can put the ball in the net. Surely there is one knocking about in the lower leagues that we could take a chance on? Oh, I forgot, we have Carver, but he never gets a decent run in the team to prove himself. Someone who can belt the ball into the net from around the box would do. Someone like Kevin Ellison, if I may be so bold!

According to radio Lancs we deserved nothing from the game and Carlisle should have won more convincingly.
There was also a question mark over Carlisle goal being offside.

Pretty fair assessment that, but for our keeper it could've been an embarrassing scoreline. On way back now & only saving grace is it's not a long trip home

Was like watching a pub team today, shocking!! The goal was a good 2 yds offside imho, the liner was nowhere near up wi play. as bad as anything ive seen this season, no threat up front, the only one who looked like doing anything "Naismith" was taken off by "Super Johnny Coleman" The young keeper is the best ive seen this season of Stanleys many, but fer him they coulda declared. If we play like this on Tuesday, kiss goodbye to the F.A. Cup.

Sunday's MOM on the bench, top scorer still on bench, what is colemans obsession with Maguire and McCarten - can't see it, both of them do something decent once every 3 games - NOT ENOUGH.

Kal sadly looks nowhere near yet after his absence and what the hell happened after Moly came on; whatever the idea of a system (4231) went out of the window and we ended up with Moly on the right, OSullivan on the left (our only threat 1st half) resulting in 4 forward players within the width of the centre circle and Deano trying to play right wing.

To paraphrase a popular character from a sitcom: Tactical Genius my arse!!!

really poor, score line could have been much worse.

Said it weeks ago Deano needs to play centre back and Gray needs to start.

Did Gray not start last sunday? n was shocking, I would prefer to start Carver, at least that lads got fight in him. Moly is nothing like the player of 2 yrs ago n fer me has done sod all since his return.McCarten today was very poor imho.

Agree with most of that Frank but I think Carver should be starting and if he doesn't want Liddle in defence try him as an attacking midfielder.

We lose one game and chubbyman and cashman can't help themselves.

Get behind the team.

After the beattie debacle we are finally going places, let's see what happens Tuesday and next Saturday.

I agree about giving carver a start although I do think he is an effective sub when defences are starting to get tired; but Gray has had his chance and didn't deliver.

At least we go to the games DAV. Home and away.. So I think we're entitled to criticise ,believe me bar for the goalkeeper not one player earned their wages. As for the Beattie debacle as you put it pray tell who was the manager when the betting scandal at Bury occurred.

Hunty was putting in a decent shift until he was subbed (because of injury).

Re: Carlisle (A) Match Thread

No one has mentioned the woeful performance of our midfield who were totally bossed by the lively youngsters making up Carlisle's engine room. Our Captain couldn't see the possibility of making a telling pass ....forwards that is , as opposed to sideways or backwards !, and Andy Proctor was way off the pace !.
As to the 'shape' adopted for today's miserable offering,I doubt if Football19in all his wisdom could have made any sense of it !.
The defence were for once somewhat unsure of their task today , a worrying omen for Tuesday night's task against an attack minded Notts County.
On the bright side we've got a young Goalkeeper with quick reflexes and a skilful reading of the game. His contribution meant that we were not looking at a 5 - 0 scoreline..at least !
It was all in all an afternoon to forget BUT......the Pies ( Not Chicken Balti !) were tasty and good value at £2.50, and Accymad's Cheese Pie looked appetising also !..
With this news from the catering front ended, all I have left to hope for is a different display from the genuine Reds on Tuesday night .

I have to agree with you Cashy on Moly looks a shadow of the player he was and poor Mingoia frozen out time to give Moly a break and maybe put Liddle up front on left and give Mingoia a place on the bench.

Didn't see the game but, from Professor Coleman's comments, it sounds like Stanley could have done with some of the 100% commitment that Mr. Mingoia always seemed to give. If he is fully fit, I think he's a good option and don't understand why he has 'disappeared'.
But it's a long way to go and maybe, once the loanees have come and gone, as they tend to do, some of the contracted players will get their chance.
As ever in footie, though, the lack of a real threat up front is worrying for any team.

Heard the lads been poorly, dunno how accurate that is? He was on bench at Notts i recall, but nowhere to be seen on pitch pre-match? If thats the case, i never seen the lad give less than 100%. so hope hes on the mend.
