Don't suppose the Burton fans will be too happy either - surely it was worth giving it a bit longer in the sun, apparently it's only a couple of patches that are a bit hard

Aye, but even if it had started it would have been called off at half time as temperatures and daylight fell.

It can't be worse than the Oxford game in the face cup. I left home at 7 this morning and been waiting about in the cold most of the trip down so not happy either but what can the club do if the ref calls it off

Its on the "NEWS" page....but when we are trying to get a quick view of the match status it should have been on the HOME page which you see as soon as you log on....I agree poor admin/communication. I feel sorry for the Burton fans and our own fans who have already set off or travelled to the match. Surely a decision could have been made at 12.30pm? I bet it is the side of the pitch in the shade of the main stand that is still frozen!

There's currently an 11-a-side training session taking place on the pitch. The danger must have subsided momentarily...

The pitch would have been fine after the teams warmed up on it with hard studs.

Perhaps the referee was more interested in the sales. Turned up at 11.30 and called it off at 2.05. Odious little toad.

Yes according to Dan Jewell on Radio Lancs it's a 2 foot wide patch in front of the stand.:(

I suppose so & that would've been worse but at least we could've adjourned to the pub & moaned about it - ah well, suppose it will be rearranged for a Tuesday night now which will no doubt mean a smaller gate but when the man in the middle says no what can you do :(
