The blind can't help themselves either. You don't need to be a hater to know we made a mess of it at stevenage, Carlisle or York. Or most of the games crooks starts. I will get behind the team, god knows it costs me enough but if you think those games were acceptable you must be mad. Just learn from our mistakes

The clue is in the choice of pronoun.

"WE have got to improve". "WE are being punished".

As a qualified Schoolteacher Coley will understand the meaning of the pronoun "WE". Unfortunately it appears that not all those who post on here do.

He is also a qualified manager and he knows that if HE doesn't pick players who can score WE won't win games. Not all posters seem to realise that either

Qualified schoolteacher or not, surely you can see the point I'm trying to make. By using the pronoun WE it looks to me like JC has attempted to share the responsibility of bizarre team selections and substitutions with the squad rather than admit he's made mistakes.
I appreciate your short lesson on the use and understanding of pronouns and bow to your superior knowledge of the subject although I myself am a retired teacher!
I'll give you some homework. Look up the definition of the word MANAGER.

You're right again Dav.....Colemans football is really exciting....I've 4 years till I retire and it doesn't look like Crookes will score before that but I do get a buzz every time he heads for goal but alas Super Johnny Colemans wand doesn't work 24 chances missed by Crookes now......🙈🙈🙈🙈 does he know he should have his eyes open?

There's still time for Crooks to surprise us, remember Jamie Clarke who we loaned from Rovers a few years back? Didn't break any pots for us at all until his last game before his loan was up & he scored a hat trick at the Crown against Grimsby . . . . . . watch out Exeter!!?

Re: Quote of the year

From my perspective it isn't as clear cut on the Crooks selection. It certainly isn't as illogical a decision as Beattie's to pick Michael Richardson ( :) )

Coley is playing a certain system that works for Accy - the 4-2-3-1. In this system you can forgo one goal scoring forward because it is the 1's job to hold up the ball and bring in to play the 3 who could all score. It makes sense both in defence because you pack the midfield and going forward because you have 4 chances to get a goal (in theory). So, the most important attribute for the forward in this formation is hold up play. Not scoring, beating your man or finishing. Of the forwards we have, I see it this way:

- Carver: Tall, willing and full of beans but still learning and as such is unreliable for holding up play for long enough to get midfield in to play.
- Gray: Enthusiastic but works better when playing 2 v 2 because his strength is in moving into channels and stretching defences.
- Crooks: Awkward in front of goal and lacking in confidence but strong and can spot the forward runs of advancing teammates.

I haven't included Bowerman because he's away on loan, nor have I included McCartan because I believe he is more of an inside right than a striker.

To summarise I believe we've struggled because the 3 have underperformed more than the 1. Molyneux has struggled after being robbed of a year by Crewe, O'Sullivan was quality but hit and miss and now not at the club, and Maguire hasn't taken his chances. Mingoia and McCartan have done best in these areas and I think them taking more prominent roles is the way forward.

Just my point of view. I don't like pantomime baddies v goodies; I like logic :)
