Tom Aldred
Returned from holiday last night . The first thing we get told is that Tom Aldred has left Accrington Stanley . Does anyone know if this is correct ?. I truly hope it is wrong , he was Player of the season last year , would be a shame if he has gone.
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Dunno greeny, was told last night he'd gone to Oldham? but had no confirmation, so who knows? If hes gone then understandable so i wish him all the best.:)
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Somebody would have to be really desperate to take him now when they could sign him on a precontract and get him for free in the summer. Why spend money that you don't need to because he is good but not exceptionally good.
It doesn't make sense but that's nothing new where we are concerned. |

The way things play out at the "safestorage stadium" who knows? I bet the sponsors were pleased with that announcement :D |
Re: Tom Aldred
On the live text last night Sam was informed that Tom had picked up a knock in training.
And if you believe that you have less sense than DAV!!:D |

You can't help talking silly when you include DAV in your post!!

Re: Tom Aldred
Off to Blackpool according to twitter this morning :(
|
Re: Tom Aldred
If that's true about Blackpool - & it would make sense with Stevo being there - I really hope it works out for Tom, he deserves to play at a higher level but would worry about him going to a club in such turmoil
|
Re: Tom Aldred
If he has gone to Blackpool I wish him well, However I can't see what would attract him to a club in such a mess. He needs to go to a better club.

Re: Tom Aldred
Oh dear, It sounds like Tom has probably left the club, which is a great shame for Accrington Stanley.
It's the same old story, that 'Little' clubs like ours have to endure.....A player improves and becomes one of our best players and then gets ideas of grandeur and the possible temptation of a bigger salary. We cannot blame any player, in the same position as Tom is in now, for submitting to the temptaion of playing with a bigger/better club and on a higher salary.:gooddog: I would like to thank Tom for his service to the club. Since coming into our squad and cementing a permanent place on the team list Tom has been a great favourite with the supporters. If every player on our books always played with the energy and passion that Tom has shown then we would probably be higher up the division and players might be less likely to leave us!:mosher: Good luck and thanks Tom. |
Re: Tom Aldred
(((Has he gone)))
this passage taken from the lancs telegraph seems to suggest otherwise ((Coleman will run fitness checks on Tom Aldred, who missed his first game in 93 on Tuesday with a knee injury, and forward Kal Naismith.)) John Coleman wants to crank up volume as Accrington Stanley bid to arrest run of defeats (From Lancashire Telegraph) |

I think the official news that he has gone to Blackpool probably overides that story |

Re: Tom Aldred
From our Fishy site;
Tom has joined the Seasiders on an initial month’s loan to allow him to feature in today’s game with Brighton & Hove Albion, with a view to a permanent transfer. |
Re: Tom Aldred
echo!!! cashman
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Good luck Tom Aldred.
Sad fact of football but it's better to get something than nothing in Summer. My only suprise is that he started the season at Stanley, thought somebody would have snapped him up last summer. |

Re: Tom Aldred
Good luck to Aldred, he has been fantastic for us. He had a period last season when he was by far the best defender in HHS league.
Opportunity for someone to become the main man. C'mon, 3 points today!!! |

Tom has been superb in his time here, hope he succeeds at Blackpool, that way the club must surely get some decent poke, thats needed? Coneelly looks like he can do the job to me.

Re: Tom Aldred
Let's hope that Tom plays for Blackpool today and that he is their "Man of the Match" and that he repeats that for the rest of the month!:theband:
That way we can demand the highest transfer fee possible for him when he signs for them permanently £££££:D UP THE POOL AND TOM and ON STANLEY ON:mosher: |
Re: Tom Aldred
Would imagine it's a case of Blackpool paying a small loan fee and us getting his wages off the bill. We haven't got much leverage to command a decent transfer fee. Just hope there's an Eric Whalley style sell-on clause in there.
Good luck Tom. Good servant for the club and played a massive part in keeping us in the league last season. Will always have memories (albeit hazey) of the night after the Bristol game. Hope he does well. |

By the looks of it, he's only signed on loan to register in time to play today, presumably the registration for a loan player is later than a permanent deal. I'm guessing you can sign a plyer on outside the window if he's on loan. It will all come out in the wash. |
Re: Tom Aldred
Good luck Tom, I hope it works out for you at Blackpool. I don't know what is going on behind the scenes but it does not seem a happy camp. some of the team selections are questionable. I can't see James Gray or Marcus Carver sticking around if they are not getting a place in the team. James didn't even make the squad last week against Bury, Why???? Nicky Hunt on the bench, Why???? some seriously bad decisions being made.
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Because winnard is a better right back
|
Re: Tom Aldred
I like Nicky Hunt and would play him if he had good protection in front of him but against a winger with any mention of pace he's left for dead. Plus as Dave says Dean is a better player.
As for the rest - Carver is starting today and Gray on the bench, Chrisr must be happy as Larry :D |
Re: Tom Aldred
Aldred on the bench for the tangerines
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Did he come on macca?
A rare Blackpool win as well. |
Re: Tom Aldred
Seems Not.
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Signs a permanent deal on monday for an undisclosed fee meaning not alot:(
|
Re: Tom Aldred
The thing is, conneely look great on Tuesday as a replacement and we wouldn't have got anything for tom in the summer so some cash now may make up the shortfall from the cancelled fixtures.
If someone wants to PM the exact details of the deal, I would be grateful. |
Re: Tom Aldred
Quote:
Can't they just publish the details publicly for all to see....????:egged: ie 'Transparency'.:gooddog: |
Re: Tom Aldred
Was flicking through a paper in the opticians waiting room on Friday. Found an article complaining that of all the transfers completed during the current window nearly all were undisclosed so nobody's being transparent about what's going on in the transfer market.
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Not on here cashy - Not losing plot this was a conversation I had with someone about the Aldred Departure and then heard someone saying exact same in the crown before game
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Should be a small fee up front and a few clauses with other small potential add-on fees based on appearances and the success of the club i.e staying up this season, promotion next season.
Better than a kick in the knackers and losing him for nothing in the summer, I suppose. |
Re: Tom Aldred
Only good business if we stay up? or stay in business....?
Who knows why these decisions are made ......we never know the full picture...... Good luck Tom, thank you for your time at Stanley. I hope you get games at Blackpool................... |
Re: Tom Aldred
get bobby grant back, as part of the deal
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Made his debut for Blackpool today... conceded a penalty and got sent off!
|
Re: Tom Aldred
Luke a few others I was chatting to on Tuesday, we where all suprised he made the step up to championship level but hoped he would prove himself.
Can't help think Lee Clark has an eye on next season and life in league 1 with most of his January signings. |
