Been there - done that, a hell of a trek!! Don't think I'll be doing it again for a league match

Would it not be possible to have the game transmitted back to the club or pub and supporters could still see the match and have a pint as well. I am sure it can be done but I don't know the cost.

What a good question AND with the new technology that is being installed at every ground that atcually is now a possibility. Promise I'll look into this with the FL.

Not only away but at home as well on 29th September. somebody in the fixture lounge wants their collective bottoms kicking. Morecambe on a Tuesday night home and away yes, Yeovil no way Jose. Can't see too many fans wanting to make the trek either way.

With the amount of southern teams this year fixtures like this was inevitable!

The only times I have known this to be allowed is when the away section has sold out or away fans banned. It costs the home club otherwise.

It's the same with Hartlepool, Tuesday night home and away.
Strange arrangement to pick two clubs so far away for two mid week games.

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

Watford, who are playing Everton on the opening day, seem to be having a go at Luton fans who are having to suffer an awayday at Accy:
Luton ask Hornets fans: 'You got the dates for when the Coppa Italia starts?' (From Watford Observer)

A bit of a cheek from a team who, when they were struggling in the Premiership, couldn't beat us over 120 minutes and had to rely on penalties to get them through to the next round of some cup or other!

With the geography of next seasons League 2, Hartlepool is a local derby :)

Spare a thought for Carlisle fans. They have got Plymouth away on a Tuesday night.

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

I think the home and away evening fixtures against the same team has been going for some time. I seem to recall we had evening games home and away against Bristol Rovers a couple of seasons ago.

And now we wait for ASFC to compound the problem when it announces the changes for Friday evening games. Exeter City?

Yeovil home and away midweek is probably good planning, how many would we take on a weekend? If you were asked which teams you want midweek you'd probably want the worst supported ones.

As if League 2 isn't southern-based enough - according to the fishy we are away to Barnet twice this season - 10th October & 27th Feb

Why does no one at the club ever copy check material that's posted on t'fishy site, especially something as basic as this?

But more importantly, why is the error STILL there two days after smobile flagged it up?

Think you need to refresh your page, it's already been changed Steve

Only noticed it cos the Mrs wants to take the kids to Harry Potter World.

So I came up with a plan.......

Drive them up from Devon, drop them off near Watford, then shoot over to Barnet to see some real wizardry and magic from the Mighty Reds, before picking them up and returning to Devon.

Thanks, Dave, changed in the last hour and a half since I mentioned it...but would it have been changed if I hadn't said anything?

It will have been on a to-do list, if it had been on mine it would have been a Champions League fixture before I got round to it :)

We alway's welcome comments, "good and bad"; please remember that in every department our wage structure is the lowest in the FL. Appreciate that a "low" salary shouldn't = bad job, but we are all human!! :) We also have the fewest full staff at any FL club. We will get things wrong, sorry:)

I appreciate that, Mark, but it's not like t'fishy site is a national newspaper with dozens of new stories everyday. There's probably only one story a day on average. It only takes a matter of minutes to read it through to make sure there are no typos or inaccuracies. That fixture list could've been checked for "bloopers" in a quarter of an hour max by a junior member of staff.

However, I'll let you off this time...just don't do it again! ;)

Mr T 25-06-2015 19:48

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

Sir,

A very experinced member of staff entered the fixtures at 7am; and we checked them at 8am before she went off to a "proper job". The only "junior member of staff" is under instructions only to do certain tasks:(

Wynonie Harris 25-06-2015 20:10

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

Flamin' Nora, it gets worse. So you're telling me that you DID check the fixtures list after an "experienced" member of staff had entered them...and you still didn't spot a glaring error?

Perhaps you'd be better off letting the junior check them next time.

Mr T 25-06-2015 20:45

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

Sir,

Maybe, but we did "double check" each game, 1 mistake surely isn't a hanging offence?? If it is, am very worried, as I turn up most days!!

Wynonie Harris 25-06-2015 20:59

Re: fixtures 2015/2016

Mark, you keep digging a deeper and deeper hole for yourself...you checked it not once, but twice and you STILL didn't spot it? That's even worse! This isn't the first time this sort of error has cropped up on Stanley fixture lists, but all I'm saying is, can someone at the club check (or even treble check) details like this, as it doesn't look very professional.

PS - What's with all this "Sir," stuff? You sound like you're writing a letter to The Times! ;)
