Raining again.

Heavy rain forecast again but Andy Holt confident game Saturday will be on a machine capable of removing 20,000 litres of water a hour arriving tomorrow.

Well I know he is banned from this site, but here's hoping he is now attacking Fleetwood Towns fans site. They had their match against Walsall called off tonight for a waterlogged pitch. It is the second time this match has been called off for the same reason. Absolute DISGRACE lol

They're the Cod Army so it's ok. :D

Friday night's forecast looks worrying, but hopefully there'll be enough time to deal with it.

I will be travelling up from Devon and Thursday night, really hoping the game is on. :)

If it is called off, I will be hand-delivering a letter to the club on Saturday relating to their repeated failure to be able to control the weather :D

If you pass through Somerset you pick up another letter.

Is the water-gobbling machine working it's wonders yet ..?

It's going straight into The Crown, fifth hand pump on the left, low-alcohol option.;)

Re: Raining again.

The machine is ready to go, the new drains which are at least twice the size of the old ones are working well, no water gathering in the corner. there will be more machines digging out at the back of the away stands where the clay/soil is higher than the pitch causing the water to run down to the pitch side. so hopefully that will be scraped down tomorrow. it is looking good. The man is delivering all he said he would.

Makes sense Chris, I thought the topography of the pitch doesn't help, almost concaved but all over the place as well like a square crisp. A lot of 1980s higher level pitches to aid drainage had a high point in the middle of the goal a few inches lower on touch lines.

Frighteningly erudite Chewy! ... and thought provoking as well !.
( love the ' square crisp' analogy ! .)

Only 20,000 litres an hour?? That's a disgrace. ;)

Had a sneck at the ground after dinner today, looks ok considering, my moneys on the game being on no doubt, unless a monsoon or summat occurs.:)

That's a light breeze compared to what we have had in the last couple of days. Practically T-shirt weather :D

Well at least in the half when we're kicking against the wind. A few long balls with the wind behind us might pay off!:)

I've managed to negotiate delays, cancelled trains and replacement buses to get to Preston and am heading to accy for the first time in ages with the prospect of actually seeing a game.

It's definitely a lot warmer down here. It only feels balance compared to Arctic up our way :D
