Peloton Reels In Leaders As They Lose Their Faith

Ange B’s serene progress towards retention of her Prediction League title was shaken yesterday :eek: as she climbed onto the drawmongers’ fence for the trip to Luton. This brought her no reward, and a similar fate befell second-placed MikeA, who relied :confused: on his pessimistic season ticket 1-0 away loss. With Cashman picking up a maxi :), and Outback Ozzy and Leylandii four points each (memo – trust your keeper ;)), Ange’s erstwhile 5 point lead at the top is now down to a single point over these three, and Mike has crashed down to 10th :eek:. All the rest of the Top Ten picked up 4 as well, and with Dave in Germany and Jims Lad also among the maxis in 10th and 11th, the Top Twelve are now covered by 6 points. Tight or what? :D

Apart from Mike’s crash, the only change in order amongst the 12 was Cashy once again overtaking Sparkie to take 4th. Outback Ozzy is now 2nd, leading Leylandii (3rd) and Cashy on countback. The final maxi went to Div3North, who climbed from 23rd to 20th as a result.

From the 10 drawmongers and 3 pessimists, only Football19 (0-0) and Red-Osbornello (2-2) salvaged a bonus point from their respective wrecks. About half of the 23 faithkeepers picked up a single bonus, 2-1 Stanley being the most popular prediction with 9 followers :rolleyes:, against 8 for 1-1.

So with 5 games to go, and 25 points on offer, 31 of us could still win the league, AndyD being the longest-odds outsider at this point :D. Whereas in the real world …. No, I’m not going there. Roll on the Shrimps at the Wham next – what could possibly go wrong? :confused:
