AccyWeb Player of the Season
 

That time of year again folks - please vote on this thread for your Player of the Season.
Just the one category for this award - so who's been your favourite this time around? No age restriction or exemptions - if they've pulled on a Stanley shirt & played their part in the brilliant season we're having they're eligible.
Can I ask just one thing though - 1 vote for 1 player per person please (makes it much easier to count up at the end) :)
Voting will stop at midnight on Sunday 1st May to allow time to sort getting the winner's name on the trophy.
This will be presented alongside the OASSC awards on 7th May after the Stevenage game.

Not so easy this season quite a few to pick from, but i will go with Billy Kee. The fact he signed that contract just edges it for me.

Each & every one if the team deserve recognition for how they've played but I'm gonna vote for Seamus Conneely - an unsung hero in midfield, he's done a brilliant job so far

Only been to half a dozen games this season for one reason or another, but for me Billy Kee really has stood out leading the line up front. His attitude towards the club and his signing of a new contract is fantastic to see. I just hope we can give him the League One football he deserves next season.

Are we not doing a young player of the year too ??? My vote goes to Halliday. What a talent he is.

Smudgie, the supporter's club will be organising their own awards which are usually for Player & Young Player of the season.
This award voted for on the web is as usual just for one, be they young, old or inbetween :)
I know it's hard to pick just one but I'm gonna take your first vote for Billy if that's ok?

Kee has been our most influential player,but he missed the first half dozen games when Terry had the shirt,so I'd just give the edge to Conneely,both of whom have been brilliant.

With the season we are having its hard as all the lads deserve the award. But for me it has to be billy kee, he's such a different player since he was last here. The interviews he gave about turning down other clubs and just enjoying his football really shows, you can just tell he enjoys playing football and putting on the shirt!

Ok, votes all in & counted - as you can probably see there's a clear winner this season in Billy Kee with Piero in 2nd, closely followed by Seamus in 3rd.

Apologies for your disappointment JohnC, but there's been a good couple of weeks for people to make their choice & if you look back my vote too went to Seamus but can't argue with the majority who chose Billy - also a good choice in my opinion - trouble was this season we had too many to pick from & every one of them deserves an reward.
Let's hope they get it this afternoon in the shape of promotion to League 1 :)

I hope nobody minds but as the OASSC awards have understandably been postponed till after the home leg v Wimbledon, I took the opportunity tonight to hand this trophy to Billy - got to say the time seemed right & he was thrilled to bits, sorry if this offends anyone but just seemed the right thing to do :)

He was more than happy to pose for photo with my 8ry old grandson, really made his day!!!
