FA19, would have done but he's playing Golf in Tenerife !,.... I'm just sat here sneezing, coughing, flatulence-ridden, and full o' cowd crills !... Where's the justice in that ?.

Watching Grimsby's goals again Cashy, the defensive tactics, if any, didn't really achieve much !.. ( didn't rate the goalkeeping much either ....Does he ' freeze. ' at the optimum moment do you think ?... Certainly looks like it at times !).

Better times round the corner ??.

KTF !...

Same 4-2-3-1 for the first hour and if I'm honest it couldn't have been easier for the first 30 mins, Grimsby dropping off and allowing us to have the ball and we found ourselves in good areas but once again couldn't convert. They scored from a slip from Omar at the crucial moment.
Second half for the first 20 mins was one way traffic, strong wind prevented Grimsby getting out and they sat very deap. Once again chances created, once again chances not converted. We then went to 4-4-2 with shay coming on and once again created chances only for their keeper the have a blinder. They hit us on the break as we went for broke to score and it was game over. It was very very similar to Plymouth whereby you'd struggle to say anyone truly had a bad game but things have to improve.
On a side note the challenge on Seamus at half time looked a horror tackle but the whistle had literally just sounded as he committed it. Whether the ref saw it or not who knows.

The big problem with not being able to attend games due to family commitments at Christmas is your reliance on 'live text' from the BBC sports app.
I spent 90 minutes on boxing day following the game on the mobile and, believing the stats, was truly annoyed we managed to lose this game.
Better possession for most of the game - 14 shots to their 6 - 10 corners to their 3. What the hell?????
It would appear there are stats & then there are damn stats. But the stats that don't lie are as follows;
Played 22 - won 5.
Scored 20 - only Oldham, bottom of league 1 & lowly North Ferriby, rock bottom of the Vanarama have scored less in all 5 football leagues.
Only Barnet's winner against Cheltenham kept us out of next to bottom spot.
(Thanks also to the snake's team for coming back from 2-0 down to keep Newport bottom.)
For one mad moment, let us imagine we were a premiership team and then answer this;
Would Billy Kee be still leading the attack after 9 barren league games without a win?
Come to that, would John Coleman still be in a job?

We play like the elaborate swordsman Indy shoots in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Pretty but ineffective.

But by the same token that is why I would much rather support a lower league team like Stanley as opposed to a premiership outfit - hopefully not so many knee jerk reactions to put up with

We've reached the stage when it's more than the knees that are jerking.

Yes, it's a little worrying at the moment but worrying moments are not alien to a Stanley fan, I just don't think that a change in management does that much good when the chips are down, neither do I think Billy has changed into an indifferent player in such a short time - he isn't getting the same quality of support that he had from Piero & Josh & so is finding it more difficult, that's no reflection on John O'Sullivan or Jordan Clark - but they're different players, not worse just different so yes maybe the tactics/formation should be changed but not necessarily the personnel.
I have every conference that we will turn this round & will stick my neck out enough to say I don't believe we will go down this season

Bit of a Freudian slip that last sentence Diane. Mixing confidence and conference.

AccyMad, I wasn't suggesting for one moment we should change either manager or players, just trying to highlight the absurdity of the Premier League, where you can fire a struggling manager with a £3 million pay-off & league two, where we have to live within our means.
Every jack man of the team are giving their all every week, but we keep falling short.
John Coleman needs to change tactics soon or the confidence will disappear altogether.
As we can't score, maybe we should have a 9 man defence & punt long balls onto GTF's head. Perhaps 0-0 draws for the rest of the season will see us safe?
