This lad looks promising.
A young, creative midfielder who can also score goals.
Just what we've been crying-out for all season.
Canny signing by JC.

I hope he is allowed to play his game. we have enough quality players to climb the Table. we just need a bit more tactical nuance. I hope he plays on Saturday.

Exactly the type of midfielder we have been crying out for imho, pity i will miss his 1st performance. away on thursday.

hope he does fine for us but its a wait and see job. a big jump from non contact youth football to a damp day at accy with minimal protection from referees.

it is, but if hes been on the bench at a premiership club i'm cautiously optimistic.;)

Bang on Monkey. 3 goals for Hemel Hempstead in 10 appearances doesn't say to me he's going to set League 2 on fire.
Let's see.

I'd be more than happy if Stanley's midfield each got 3 goals every ten games!

Re: Signings

this young lad was on the bench the other year when the youth played Reading in the FA Youth Cup Round 5 Game along with Tariqe Fosu , wonder if he remembered

Exile on Spencer St 01-02-2017 17:52

Re: Signings

Saw that game and remember that many of the Reading 'youth' team looked and played like they were several years older than the Stanley squad.

Let's see.

The lads plays midfield for Gawds sake.
Hopefully he will provide some creative moves for our forwards.
Any goals he may score himself will be a bonus.
In any case, how many goals has Billy Kee scored in the last 10 league games???

Lord Didsbury 01-02-2017 19:53

Re: Signings

super Bill is about to go on a goal rampage with the new, improved creative midfield. All that pent up frustration of the last six months will be released.
Ave it.

Your Lordship - read your first post.
You clearly did your homework.
Creative midfielder who scores goals - quote.
Levels.
Hope he can do it - but this is a step up like it or not.
Bench warming whether Premiership or League 2 is precisely that.

Re: Signings

Let's just wait until we've seen him play, shall we. All the recent additions have looked very promissing so far. We'll need a mixture of youth and experience to survive this season and I think Coley may well have got it......

Fully agree Twenty Eight.
Coleman has taken a gamble giving this young lad a chance, but he knows the game better than any of us.
We've been saying all season that we are lacking creativity in midfield, so this signing is surely a reason for optimism.
I too hope he is given an opportunity to prove himself in the remaining 18 league games left.
Only time will tell, but if he can provide more 'goal assists' & score the odd goal too, we'll all be singing his praises come the end of the season.

Twenty Eight 02-02-2017 17:43

Re: Signings

So where do we see him playing - and who gets the chop ?

Exile on Spencer St 02-02-2017 17:45

Re: Signings

Davies for now. Maybe start with him on Saturday but sub him for Husin at half time if he's not creating anything.

Chrisr 02-02-2017 18:53

Re: Signings

I am one of those who is always saying we need to be more creative and play different tactics. This lad has been here before and Coleman was going to sign him but Palace was on offer so it was a no brainer for the lad. I do hope we can get the mix right as the players we have are good enough. I will be there on Saturday and hopefully watch us take another three points to safety. It is not good enough to look good but lose now, But winning is critical for us. A good run can see us climb way up there. So until after the game on Saturday all is well. O Sullivan is at Carlisle.

Another Kurtis Guthrie perhaps - seems to be doing well at Colchester, shame we didn't have the luxury of giving him the time he needed to nurture hus talent, hope he doesn't come back to bite us on the proverbial next week

" Optimism is the madness of insisting that all is well when we are miserable !. "

So quoth Voltaire ......who obviously never had the opportunity to be a Stanley Fan !.

But if you say that things are definitely looking up then I shall try to shake off this feeling of impending doom !.

KTF !.

"And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
It is death for no reason"

- after he tried a Peppered Steak pie

"I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now"

- Ode to Chris Eagles

"there is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out"

- AFC Wimbledon, dreaming of match abandoned when the floodlights failed

"William, it was really nothing"

- Kee's goal drought continues.

I seriously doubt Mr. Bader, much as I respected him for his flying skills, would've got the goal which set us on our way to the fourth round in the fa cup nor even the assist which resulted in the second & guaranteed our trip to Middlesbrough but hey, don't let that stand in the way of getting a dig in at Sean McConville :)
