Holt moaning is inviting a much bigger fine next time. Once you try to take on the refs you are onto a loser.

There is no sport in the world that a team with the 100th or so best support in country gets video replays, it is beyond belief to expect it.

Re: Club receives fine

Whilst I can understand the frustration.....the fact remains that a new directive was ushered in by the powers that be...... before a ball was kicked this season....that being.....show dissent towards the officials and punishments will be administered.....:o

The legend...... Brian Clough .........actually fined his own players for arguing with officials....

Maybe the management could take that ethos into consideration. In 40 years of watching football...I'm yet to see a referee change his mind following the protests of the aggrieved !!!:o

Yes..... we continue to suffer at the hands of totally inept officialdom that has cost this club a hell of a lot of points and a financial fortune in the last 12 months....most specifically...... the clown Trevor Kettle with his decision to disallow the goal at Wimbledon last season.:mad::mad:

As instant video replays are not possible at our level......surely retrospective video evidence should be able to carry the weight of the argument.....however in this instance..... I can't understand why the red card is rescinded yet the club (or players involved ) are retrospectively fined for their "conduct" ???:confused:

As others have already said....whilst I understand referees and lines-persons can make mistakes.....why oh why..... when they are found to be culpable for a "mistake" that that has a significant impact on a game... a result...or even a season....(as we found to our cost last year ) are tougher reprimands / punishments not issued to the officials ???? Kettle is still officiating as far as I'm aware !!!! I wouldn't let that clown loose near kids football !!!

video replays are o.k. in theory but what decisions do you have them for. even rugby keague don,t have video replays for all decisions and they only do it for televised games. at the end of the day they play shots from all different angles and then come up with giving the benefit of doubt to the attacking side as the video shots are inconclusive. plus as a spectator you,ve got to sit through all this and the length of the game is made longer. 8.05 k.o. two 40 min. periods of play, 15 min. half time . the game finished about 10 o, clock. be careful what you ask for.

Well put Deeayess. A bad refereeing decision is nowt but a bit of bad luck, like a shot that hits the underside of the crossbar but fails to go in, or a cruel deflection.

I think JC complained about us not getting a penalty yesterday. What has happened if we had? Would it have meant a draw or just Pompey coming back and blitzing us? Who knows. Best not let these things bother you.

And now we get the same ref, Richard Clark, on Saturday. Hope he owes us something.
