Goal line technology

According to the efl Twitter field it is set to be introduced to the championship from next season, only a matter of time till it hits the lower leagues

They trialed the full monty version of that technology system at a wellington Phoenix v some chinese team in a mid season friendly here last week. It was used the once only to determine a penalty shout and the video ref gave it. The 'nix converted it and won 1-0. All hell broke loose on Radio Sport and the press next day as everyone else thought 'No penalty'. I hope like hell that the dam system never enters the game-except maybe for the goal line part. Don't want the greatest reason to be alive turn into the shambles that test cricket and NRL have become because of technology.

problem is kiwi once its there you,ll never get rid of it no matter what we think. apart from goal line thing a lot of it especially in the sports you mention is probebly there for the armchair fan and not for anyone who goes to games. think rugby league is a shambles because of the length of time the game is stretched out due to it.

Re: Goal line technology

Footie at League 2 level doesn't need a phalanx of cameras and catch-all applications like Hawkeye.
Did the ball cross the line between the posts is what's most at issue.
Some kind of sensor built into the goal posts and a tiny device to set them off, embedded into the balls, is what's needed.
Shops have had something along those lines for years.
