Re: Colchester United Thread,

We all have good days & bad. Highs & lows.
In sport, as in life, what matters at the end of the day is a positive outcome.
We should be thankful for a another hard won victory yesterday.
There's no need for an autopsy on who performed & who didn't.
We play as a team and whether we win or lose, every player needs our support.
John Coleman & our boys are giving their all every week to retain our league status.
Who gives a fig what any newspaper thinks about how many out-of-ten each player deserved.

Surely we will go with a back three on Tuesday?

And surely you are able to regale us with your reasoning behind this startling declaration !.

Well old man I think we have two central defenders available and one right back who it seems can play at centre half as he did on Saturday at times, and no left back, plus it has worked well for us recently at home don't you think?

Come on Yonmon, of course Boco had his usual great game yesterday and of course he would not be so rude.
I was playing along with Nancy Boy's wind up.

The only players I have issues with are all of our dodgy keepers. The rest are all magnificent.

Speaking of Matty, I wonder if Lincoln fans are now also singing 'Who put the ball in the Dingles' net?' ;)

Don't want to get tetchy on what has turned into an amusing thread but Clark 6 and didn't affect the game ?
I think it must be me who's got a different view of football.
He was unlucky not to score on 15 minutes and was part of a lot of the best build up work first half.
Second half he had to drop deeper and deeper and ended up playing full back. Often he was left exposed by Rodgers with two on one, and against their fastest man. He coped admirably in a position he's never played before.
Anyone who can give any outfielder other than Beckles less than 8 out of 10 Saturday for effort alone I do not understand.
Stand to be corrected.

for me mccarten was far below 8/10. when he came off the only thing dirty on him was his knees with the constant james grey impersonations. missed a sitter and for me a player who always does better coming off the bench than he does when he starts the game. apart from the free kicks it would be interesting too see the stats of his number of goals he has scored when he comes off the bench against those he,s scored when he starts a game.

Re: Colchester United Thread,

I really would like to know the thought process behind Shay herring the nod over Romy. I'm guessing that Coley sees Shay as someone who at least runs and troubles defences even if he's not bagging goals? Does he create worry and space for others as a result?

Romy is a far better player and we keep the ball more with him in the team, but is that at the cost of being toothless?
