It looks like the match coverage at Match Coverage ? Accrington Stanley has been abandoned this season. It still shows the 3-0 win at Stevenage and the link has disappeared from the 'Team' tab.

Today, as well as our Twitter, there's this from Colchester:
Accrington Stanley v Colchester United: Matchday Live - Colchester United - Green Un

Since none yet started, I'll have a go, as, due to unforeseen circumstances, can't make it today!

BUT..... I start with a plea.... no live text??

Don't do twitter, but just spotted on 'fishy' that we are one goal to the good, now gonna have to spend the rest of the game trying to become a 'twit' so I can follow the action!!

And, before anyone comments, you'll be striking a low blow!

Much as I dislike the Brussels Bullsh'tting Co-operative, I admit to using the following link.

Half time 2-0 should be 3up but will take 2-0 Stanley are top notch in the first half and hopefully increase the lead in the second half:)

Is that where AccyMad sits?

Super display today everyone did well, MOM Everton was also my pick, but could have easy been 3/4 more, We have lost 2 of our top players with McCarten @ Pearson and they honestly were not missed.:)

Re: Colchester match thread

Jackson looks like a better player than Shay.
Everton looks solid enough.
Too soon to tell with Nolan but seemed to hold his own.
Kee looks back to form, McConville full of confidence. The Don was outstanding first half. Everyone did ok but Chappers still scares me.

Can't say we looked a promotion team, but signs are looking good.

To be honest on way out today we said "Hope our Great Dane" gets a run out Tuesday.

Chrisr 05-08-2017 16:53

Re: Colchester match thread

I am more confident now than when I heard Matty had gone. It was a stiff test for us today as Colchester were no pushovers. When you see who we still had on the bench I am more inclined to believe we will be up there at the end of the season. Shame the Don hadto come off when he did. Beccles lost the plot for a while. But the new signings were very good. Like cashy say's any one from 4 could have been M.O.M. A promising start.

Well what a day to bring 2 scottish supporters who are holidaying in Blackpool. To say they thoroughly enjoyed it is an understatement. To say they would love to come back isn't. A thoroughly enjoyable match with some well played football, however, to temper a note of caution, The second half set off awfully slowly and it looked like someone had put lead in the tea. All was well that ended well and a half decent referee who should by all rights have sent 2 off for deliberate hand ball (one from each team). Nice to see Kayden get on the scoresheet and thanks to Billy Kee for signing our young great nephews programme at the end of the match. Real family club (which I knew) but the 2 are now going to spread the word around Scotland

Thing is outback i expected that at beginning of second half, after all Colchester were only 9/2 for promotion, i checked the bookies sat morning, we were 11/2 so expected em to change thing around and have a pop, though we handled it very well i thought? but we came back into the game after first 15/20 mins i thought. Also Colchesters goal was a deflection i noticed on tv last night, so to me no-one to blame fer one of them.

Re: Colchester match thread

My thoughts; Billy was back to his best with his skill of hold up & lay off play, for once he got some protection from ref. Ross Joyce who I thought had one of the better performances from the rubbish refs we usually suffer from, MOTM big Ben no complaints with that choice, great to see Omar on the score sheet, Yeovil is next up after a 8-2 thrashing by Luton, what a start we’ve had, long may it continue, the only negative was the re-occurrence of Janoi’s injury

Was contemplating at half time... we have lost 4 of our best 5 players from last season in, Matty, Rodak, Harvey and Shay (Billy being the 5th) yet, it did not show :)

A very good performance yesterday, against a team that will be up there - in my opinion.

All looking good so far :)

:) :) :)

Very good performance yesterday all 11 players performed well the 3 debutants were all great we at last have some genuine pace up front and in Nolan in midfield a lovely passer of the ball centre half pairing looked great never looked like we were,nt going to win ad Coley says there are going to be another couple of signings bring on Preston.

Re: Colchester match thread

Was just wonderful to be back yesterday. Lovely summers day, the Clayton End in fine voice and Coley in a new suit so sharp he could probably cut steaks with it.

Changes had been made with the season ticket vouchers. A system designed to stop some sort of major ticket touting I would think. I think that's progress - gearing ourselves up for when tens of thousands of glory hunters are locked out as we take on Barca in the CL.

Somerset would have been disappointed - the Pitch looked amazing yesterday. Each blade looked hand cut.

Shame they can't sort out those half time queues for drinks though. Slowly pouring each drink on demand can be improved on. Deffo a lost revenue opportunity as things stand.

for me the game had everything. all the new lads playing as if they,d been with us years. great goals opposition who tried to play football without kicking us to death. a decent referee which is the hardest thing to find at the wham. we even got a few comedy interludes with chapmans kicking. could not of asked for more.

Chrisr 07-08-2017 13:52

Re: Colchester match thread

I am looking forward to seeing the new keeper in action but can't go on Tuesday night. We must not forget the quality of players we have on the bench either, Our own academy lads are pretty good as well as the other signings. We have the ingredients now all we need is the method and the cake is ours.
